Hi guys, i am a proud owner of a 92 240sx (former vehicle a lightly modified95 6speed z-28)... As of right now i miss my power but i am in love with a balanced chassis. Any way my idea..the thought of a n/a ka really opposes people because of the low horsepower gains and the expense, but I feel different. Now remember that this is just an idea im playing around with but what if you built a 240, using these parts... jwt cams, stage 2 clutch, light weight driveshaft, light weight flywheel,15" light weight wheels... say 12lbs, (stock is 19lbs!),pdm 4.6 ring and pinion, suspesion of you choice set up, light weight pullys and and fresh ka24de? Im thinking that it would be a great street setup. Your not going to win any drag races but you could not stop yourself from smiling every time you see a road sign with three or more curves . Just my two cents. It is my opinion that with the torque the ka makes, if you free up the majority of the rotational mass, the car would be responsive as hell! I just wanted to say hi everybody!!! I would like your opinion about this setup. And once again hello.

Your definetly goig in the right direction to build a N/A KA. The only reason a lot of us are against the N/A is the mininal HP gains until you start doing head work, valve jobs ect. Good Luck with the project and keep us updated. We also love to see pics so get some up.

Welcome to the club and enjoy your stay.

Ok....now we get a lot of bonehead newbie 1st posts here at NICO.

This is NOT one of them!

I hereby nominate this for "Best First Post Ever", as it presents a very interesting idea, doesn't ask any dumb questions, has realistic expectations, good punctuation, and just generally comes across very well.

Congratulations.

(Note: I'm well aware this probably isn't your first post anywhere, but I just thought I'd take this opportunity to point out that post count does not equal value. People around here like to lord over those with lower posts counts who often actually know more than they do).

EDIT: Well, he IS from Bowling Green, land o' Corvettes. Maybe there's something advantageous in the water down there.

I concur. And it looks like you definitely have a firm grasp of the reason to drive a 240.I would add to the list a decent intake and exhaust. I think the muffled sound from these stock parts should be the first thing to go. And you don't need to go high dollar for these either. I think you'll agree that the sound alone is worth the effort.Welcome to NICO!

I appriciate the warm welcome guys. I have never really been apart of a forum like this before because I have always just hung out at my buddies garage. He is married now, owns his own buisiness and has a kid. He sold his 240 (sr) and purchased a work truck. I now have a career and a fiancee, who is not exactly a car fan. So I turn to NICO when I just want to talk about cars to someone else who understands and can truly appriciate the conversation. By the way, im origianally from Nashville for what its worth.. Bowling Greens really not that bad as far as car culture goes. There are a good mix of import and domestic, but muscle cars and hot rods rule all! The new Z06 is bad asss! you easily see 2 a week if not more. But at heart im a F1 fan!

I'd be in heaven in Bowling Green, assuming that there are lots of 'vettes (especially ZR-1s) around.

Anyway, I'm engaged now too, also to a girl that isn't exactly a gearhead (although she'll talk about non-technical stuff with me).

Keep us apprised of your KA project, sounds like you'll end up with a very fun car.
