alright im almost fed up with this motor, heres the dilemma
during cold start, the oil pressure rises like normal, rev it, it rises, normal. alright then after driving the car a bit i noticed that my oil pressure drops pretty bad, then when i would let off of the throttle my oil pressure is at 0! and my oil light would come on/or flash then when i step back on the gas my oil pressure would go up but not high enough to be normal. lets say im at 3000rpm and my oil pressure is at 10-15psi.thats pretty damn low considering the general rule of thumb being 10psi for 1000rpm.
i have a brand new n1 oil pump and i have the oil pump collar. for those people that think is the gauges, i have 2 gauge, 1 the r33 gauge cluster and 2nd autometer oil pressure gauge, and i also have a blown turbo to prove that its not the gauges. good thing for turbonetics has a killer warrantee.
the only thing i can think of is that the set screw that holds the collar in place against the crankshaft broke and therefore the oil pump is not getting a good grip on it? what do you guys think? any other possibilities out there that can be check? im soooo close to blowing this car up for 4th of july finale.
