hey i havent been a member for very long but everyone on here has helped me with a lot of crap without knowing it. Im on my second 2001 Pathfinder, the first one was like a forest green with a tan interior it had a grille and aftermarket headlights, corner, and tail lights. i loved it. than i rolled it and bought another, but this time i went black on black i have made the same mods plus more and will continue to add aslong as they exist.Thats the word on the street around here
Doin it for R50's Everywhere Check out my 2001 Pathfinder:http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3004068 NICO thread with some of my mods:http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/350117

Heres a pic of my 99.5 Pathy. 251,128miles, 4x4, black with tan interior. i bought it new in 99 with 11 miles on it. been all over the country with it. i absolutely love it. now i offroad it as well as daily drive it. never have i touched the motor except for the altinator and exhaust parts due to MA corrosion. I must say though, the pathfinder has the best 4WD i have ever seen. i have gone places (with my stock pathfinder before i put the tires and skid plates on it....2" lift to come soon) that my buddy in his 89 wrangler with a 6" lift and 35's has gone. the 4wd system is amazing and im soon to get manual lockers for the front and an air locker that i saw on an xterra for the rear. then the 2" lift and bump up my 31s to 33s and i should be ALMOST unstoppable. haha! anyone here from MA...preferably palmer area? i love wheelin up coy hill, devils peak, marks mountain, KOA and all the other spots we go. its so much fun too when the jeep jamboree comes to town and i just join in...my town has this famous trail that jeepers come from all over NewEngland to ride and i just join in with a stock pathy and 31's haha. its so much fun to watch thier expressions when i go over the stuff that they have trouble on. i loooovee it!

You've never replaced the timing belt? I'm not being critical (well sort of am). . but it makes me less worried about having to have it done RIGHT AT 105k.

no i havent...and i should. when i get more money im gonna go through the whole thing because i want it to last a long time. the miles are mainly highway...its been all over...but now i just use it in MA. i have a question. i see that the QX4's have that "lock" in the 4wd system. What is that? and can i get it for my 99.5 pathfinder? are the transfer cases compatible? thanks. -chris

Well it's cool that it lasts that long. . I likely won't do it on time, I never do. . haha. . The lock mode puts the vehicle in normal 4wd, and locks the center differential so it's sending power 50/50 front and rear, like your Pathfinder does when you shift it into 4wd. The other option is "auto" which unlocks the center diff, and only sends power as slip is detected. We don't have any cool air locking hubs or anything like that I BET you could switch to all-mode on the Pathfinder. . good question. . Not sure what all that would involve, but it'd be more than I'd wanna do . . besides, your advantage is that you can run manual locking hubs. . not exactly a best practice if you have all-mode, as switching to auto without them locked could hose everything.

yeah, i like the shift lever for the 4wd. and i do want to get manual locks for the front. i absolutely love the 99-04 pathfinders. although i just wish i had the 3.5 in stead of my 3.3...but reguardless...i still love it

Werd. . I wouldn't be unhappy with a Pathfinder instead of a QX4. . I was actually searching Autotrader for both, but found this QX4 for far less than any Pathfinder I could find, and it was only 120 miles away. I do like the auto 4wd though. . works well with our patchy ice / snow / dry areas, but I could live without it and would drive my qx4 more if I could save 1-2 mpg. I dig the 3.5 as well, but the price jumped considerably.

Ok, here it is! Just bought my Pathfinder Sunday. It is a 1998 XE 2wd with a 5spd stick. So far I love it! I've put almost 500 miles on it in 5 days. Yeah, I drive A LOT. It has 31 10.50 15s on it now, and I don't like them, they were cheapo tires but they are almost new, so I'm stuck until I can afford new ones. Anyways, thanks to ya'll for all the great info. I look forward to more! This is my second Nissan. I had a 1989 240SX a few years back (great car! well balanced and handled awesome, just a tad underpowered), then cycled through a Civic and a Tacoma. Tacoma is still for sale... Lemme know if anyone is interested in a 95 extra cab Taco. Lars

Hi all, I am a newbie to this forum. Just picked up an '07 Pathfinder SE Friday (kept the dealer there till 11:45 cause I showed up at closing time). Pretty much bare bones, but fits our needs well. It replaces our '04 Sorento, and joins our '06 MINI Cooper S.

Has been mostly good to me but we've had our rough times. Sadly i might be trading it in soon for a new car but for now this is my ride

Hello all. I'm JR. I'm obviously new to this forum. I'm also new to Nissan ownership. I just purchased a new 2008 Pathfinder LE in Frost White with all the goodies in it. NAV, leather and so on. I opted for the 4.0 V6 from the 5.6 V8. Gas is just getting too high. I drag race a Cobra and have a F350 diesel for towing so other than that, I saw no need for the V8.So far, 200 miles, we absolutely love this vehicle. This is my first Nissan. We're looking forward to many good years of service from it. We have 3 teenagers, so the 3rd row seating was a must. We went from a 2006 Ford Expedition to this vehicle. The mpg seem to be about 4-5 above the Expo. A feature we were in the market for. I looked at 3 vehicles. The Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and this. No comparison in my mind. Honda, too small. Toyota, rode like a soccer mom minivan. Not necessarily a bad thing, but my wife likes to sit higher up. Hope there is some good input on reliability for these. From what I've narrowly researched, they seem like a dependable ride. J.R.

Welcome to NICO Mr. Lewis!! I think you'll be pleased with the Nissan. My family has owned many, and I've had a rough time moving away from them. I decided to purchase an SUV, and wanted a 4Runner pretty badly, but ended up coming back home. From my experience, I've always had vehicles that rarely have issues. Love your other vehicles as well!! Post up pics of stuff if you've got 'em.

Thanks for the welcome!I wouldn’t say everywhere, but man there must be a million acres (random number) of national forest and reservations, you get the idea. You need permits for res' access though. These come with hundreds of miles of trails in climates ranging from low desert and cactus to mountains and pine - practically everything you can think of. I have explored basically nothing in comparison to what's here. I'm a native of PA and know what you mean by everything being farms, etc. some cool places, but not like out here. I've explored basically nothing in AZ compared to what's here. I know some AZ natives that know where to go. Awesome places I hear. Can go from Phoenix desert to lakes and streams deep in the cooler mountains in like 2.5 - 3 hours and never look back. Next time I get out, I'll take a few more pictures and post.
