I'll post more later, but I picked up THREE Datsun Fairlady Roadsters this weekend.

NICOmom was NOT pleased....

One is a 69 1600, another is a 70 1600 and the third is a 69 2000 (you can bet which one gets restored).

They all need full restoration, but they're complete for the most part, and there's very little rust (all CA cars, one of them is a "black tag" car).

I'm in no rush to get started on them, just wanted them to be in MY possession as opposed to some knucklehead who will chop them up...

They were in an impound lot, and I bought the lot of them for the price of the past-due impound fees and the towing charges.

So, stay tuned for NICO Project Fairlady in the coming months!

Sweet pick up, Greg!

My childhood friend's dad has a roadster sitting in the basement. I remember climbing and playing on it as a kid. I'm so tempted to knock on his door and try to snag the roadster from him. But I have nowhere to put it

Nope - Check the G35 forum...

These are probably gonna sit for quite some time - They're at a buddy's house, he has a lot of property just outside the city limits, so they will be safe there..

Gotta finish the convertible, work on our G20, the Q needs some maintenance....THEN maybe I'll start playing with the Roadsters.

Had to Google it, never heard of this car!

Really liked it, looks soooo classic! Are you building one mint and the other as spareparts or build a crappy one as well? Like a CA project???

Congrats to the cars and nope your not single after this!

I absolutely love these cars, congrats on scoring three at once. Keep 2 at other people's places who owe you favors (I'm sure they aren't in short supply) to keep NicoMom happy.

Some ideas:

Not a photo, but c'mon, SSR Mk 1's!!

I was trying to find one totally done up, bosozoku-style, over the top, but I couldn't find one, people keep these pretty simple it would seem, even in Japan.

EDIT: Anyone read the "standard features" paragraph in MaxHopper's post? You see the stuff it lists? Carpeting? Turn Signals? Heater? ROFL, viva old school.

Oh Greg, you are sick! I love those things, I look in Ebay every now and then and they are rare. Give us pics and details in how you got a hold of those babies. Bring me one to NOPI Atlanta, I'll buy from you. I probably have to talk to your wife about this...

NICOmom was not pleased because the Q, HIS former car which when I pointed out the noise earlier in the week, said it's fine!, died on me this weekend. Stranding me and my baby girl on an offramp in 110 degree heat where NO ONE speaks English!

That is why I was not pleased. I need my car running, not dead. And he just added 3 new dead cars to the household list.
