Most factory turbo systems get their oil straight from the block. I haven't seen where they got it from, but I doubt is would be a heavily stressed point on the block. I doubt a point lower on the block would be a stressed point for an oil return either. SCC magazine put their return line into the block with the Project 240sx they did many years ago.superDorifto wrote:did anyone see what they did for the oil feed and return lines? they just tapped into the main oil galley after the pump, but before the filter...and they put the return in the block right above the spot on the pan where most people put it...anyone have thoughts on this set up? drilling extra holes in the block seems a little gutsy to me...
i wasnt questioning the strength of tapping directly into the block, im more concerned with the fact that unfiltered oil would supply the turbo in their setup, and that having a tap in the high pressure galley between the pump and the filter might affect overall oil pressure negatively...just my thoughtsC-Kwik wrote:Most factory turbo systems get their oil straight from the block.
