I disconnected my exhaust at the manifolds and fired her up. It sounded SICK!

Wes has a custome exhaust on his Q. Rob's old Q had a nice custom exhaust with custom headers. Several have removed the rear muffler, for a dual in/dual out muffler and some chrome tips.

I currently have all the makings for a custome 2.25" stainless steel system with new cats, resonators, x-pipe, dual in/out muffler and stainless steel tips. I just got my new O2 sensors in, so I am ready to take her to the muffler shop.

I am hoping for a nice rumble at idle, low cruise volume, similar to stock, with a little more noise at WOT. I went with the 2 1/4", so I don't loose too much back pressure. I punched my pup cats, and it made a little difference, but not much.

STILLEN made a rear muffler that was 2 into 1. It was very good looking. It might still be on their web site. It is a direct bolt-in, 1 hour job.

Stick with the 50 series. 40 series are way too loud and they dont make a muffler thats a good size for under the Q. Theres not alot of space to twist the 2 pipes behind the diff.

Why? Unless you want to keep it stock quiet. The Q's already got 4 cat's and 2 mufflers under the car, why keep the rear one? I've heard the Q without it and it sound's nice and isn't too loud, IMO. I'll probably remove mine and run the tailpipes straight out if I ever get around to it, at least until I aquire all the parts to replace the oem muffler with a rear mounted turbo

I punched my front cats, replaced the other cats with magnaflohigh flow cats. I removed the front mufflers (resignators) and puton two flowmasters. I removed the rear muffler and ran two straightpipes (2.5") out the back. All custom welded together at the shop.Sounds good, not too loud, roars at 4000 rpm. Quiet at idle.

P.S. nice Q! looks real clean!

That's because no Q owner (besides Rob) has ponied up the coin to buy one.

I'll let Keith (current owner) and Rob (previous owner0 comment on the system on that Q.

Can we get some more details? I've never heard of you making exhaust systems. Is this what you have on your Q? If so I might want to meet up with you sometime and check it out.

I just got back form the local custom exhaust shop. To weld in the stuff I bought in T409 stainless (not polished) is $400.00 He is going to install my new )2 sensors while it is on the rack, too.

I will try to get him to save my OEM system, so I can give it to some of you northerners that have rusted out systems. He may have to use th efront flange on the cat pipes.

I have around $350.00 in Magnaflow parts. Cats, resonators, x-pipe, dual muffler and polished tips.

He can do it in alumanized steel for about $250.00

I asked him to put in some clamps, so I can remove the system in parts, for transmission removal, rear end swap, etc.

I will get dyno numbers before and after, so you guys can see what the change makes, if any. Don't make fun, if Lola is down on power. She is the last Q I have left .
