I've now got the prototype done and just waiting on bolts arriving to test the whole thing out. Can do kits if anyone's interested, no minimum quantity.Kit will include adaptor plate, flywheel spacer and all bolts.Anyone interested put your name on here and I'll get prices as soon as they're finalised.

I may be interested, I assume this would require switching to a standalone ems, though. I'd have to do some serious thinking about that. Funny, I was just pondering this idea a few days ago. I'm anxious to see what you come up with.

Regards,

Mark

Not sure on the Q45, but on the 300ZX you can retain the stock ECU if you change it from slushbox to manual. Just need to link out the inhibitor switch and it seems happy. I do usually run an ECU program with a manual base code in though so it is not looking for autobox ECU comms. My guess is it would be OK but couldn't swear to it.Sure Robert would know as he has disassembled the code extensively.

John, I'm interested - I'd like to know the price first, of course, but I've been waiting for this for a while.

The stock ECU will work OK but will throw a Transmission code. If you want, I can program a custom one that will ignore the TCU.

Well that's very interesting. Now I wonder how the transmission would line up in a G50 in terms of shifter location...I guess I have some research to do...

I wish you would have posted this 3 weeks ago.....I just got all the parts to mate the z31 n/a gearbox...I am still working on the plate though.

I may be interest in your plate still though depending on price of course.

I have done 10+ auto to 5 speed swaps on S13's and you can retain the stock ecu. You just have to cut the wires for the nuetral safety switch and wire them together and rewire your back up lights aswell.

What kind of material did you decide to use?

So, Aluminum Alloy 6082 (Extrusion).

Will it be cold rolled or hot rolled?

Any notion as to what the actual weight of the plate will be?

Not sure yet, will weight it for you once it's all done.Think its cold rolled but not too sure to be honest its certainly stronger than the cast gearbox housing anyway

I'm definitely interested since the other deal fell through a while back. Hopefully the international shipping won't be too bad... being aluminum it shouldn't be terrible I wouldn't think. (Actually... the currency exchange might be the worst hit. I'm definitely in need of one though so I'll pull together the money regardless. )

Yes, I think the exchange rate might be the problem. It's killed UK manufacturing anyway!!

Anyone looking for this in the US. 450zxtt made one for his car, and offered to make them for others. I don't recall, but a search of his old posts should reveal some information and a really cool video of his car.

it probably would be cheaper if we combined the order and then you can ship the second one to me or visa versa

I tried setting up a group deal on these with him. Needed about 10 people at the time but I couldn't get enough interest going on them.

Other than the starter motor being mounted on the opposite side of the engine, the bolt pattern shouldn't have changed.

What say ye, Mr Dixon ?
