What can I say, besides, WOW! I have seen these cars before, but never really got to take an intimate look at one, let alone get to sit in the driver seat. I have driven a few R32's, R33's, and one R34, but they were not GT-R's. This is the first GT-R I have been privelaged enough to really get to drive...even if it was for only 20' of a parking lot.
It doesn't mater how many times you have seen one. Every time you do see one, it's the same reactions. Awesome. When I got there, I got under the hood to see the heart of the beast...all 2600cc's of her twin turbo glory. It was a little dirty under there...*cough, cough. Sean, clean that!*...but it is still amazing.
Inside, the center counsel screen is simply cool. You can monitor all your vitals here, as seen in the pic. You can also monitor your front to back, and side to side G-forces. You get a lap timer, and some other nic-nacks that I can't remember...sorry gang, I am gettin old.
This car is fortunate enough to have an HKS boost controller, Blitz full auto turbo timer and a Blits Power meter.
The seats on this thing will keep you planted with ease. The side blosters grip you like a laytex glove. You aren't goin anywhere. And the clutch...holy cow, I thought my uncles '69 Z28 had a heavy clutch, and this one is hydraulic. The shifter is smooth and precise. It even took me a minute to figure out how to get it into reverse...lol. Lift up on the ring below the knob, dummy!
I really wish I could have taken it onto the street, but the lack of plates due to stripped registration, and no Sha-ken would make me a quick target for Japan's finest. So, I really can't tell you about how it drives or accelerates, but I am sure we can assume that it is a great driving car.
Enjoy the pics.
Now, when I went to the office of this company, I never expected to see what I saw. A completely MINT KPGC10 Hakosuka GT-RUmmmm....creams pants....ummm. SCHWING!This car is amazing. It looks like this car has been restored to factory original condition. There isn't much for aftermarket goodies on this, which is good, cause that means the value will only go up on it. Plus it being white makes it that more valuable. White cars in Japan bring in a lot of cash, kind of like red with the states.
The engine looks immaculates, the interior is flawless and comfortable...even for a 30+ year old car. The floor boards on this thing are even perfect. This is a car that even I would love to have for a day of just driving.
The wheels are Watanabe's, but I can't remember the model. The back tires are wider than my Laurel's. They are massive...hell, look at the lip on the back wheel. WOOT!
All in all, seeing these two cars, and especially the Hakosuka, made my day complete. I would like to thank Sean for giving me this oportunity. Hopefully, I can do this again for you.
I also would like to thank Taka, Ito and the president of the company for letting me drool over thier cars.
Enjoy all.
