sup guys , check out April 06 Super street magazine , it has a very amusing article about KaT on page 160 ! "The ka is such a great engine. The Ka24 is the way to go ! YEAH RIGHT !!!!!!!! The sr guys would get a kick out of this article , well here it goes .I am going to write this exactly as super street has it !

Reader-

Whats up , super street dudes? I am about to buy a "93 Nissan 240sx and turn it into a drift machine . I've been searching around for motors and have found a couple places that have the SR20DET motor for pretty cheap . But i want to know which one to get? Should I spend the money and spring for the s15 one like Rikdaddy or go for red top and build it up ? I have the money to spend .Let me know . Thanks

Super Street-

Congrats on getting ready to buy a new car . But are you seriously thinking about swapping in an sr20det motor ? Why ? the ka is such a great engine , Not only do gain 0.4 L of displacement , you get weak pistons and rods to go with it . High revving is overrated. Lond stoke with 6,500 rpm redline is the way to live life . Not to mention how loud and clunky sounding the ka is . You'll always think your motor is blown when you start it up in the morning . Then you can slap together a turbo kit , boost 4psi , and hope the engine doesn't blow . You must be out of your mind . the ka 24 is the way to go . If you must swap , throw in a single cam ka24e from the '98-90 models . that'd be SWEET . LET US KNOW HOW IT GOES ~!

Not sure exactly what it is you're tryin to say here? I hope you dont agree with the editoral response there because, well, those are some of the worst/most bogus anti-KA comments I have ever read in my entire life.

i own a rb25, and if i didnt have it i would mos t def go with a KAT, building the block and head is almost just as much as the stroker kit for the sr20 minus the iron block

Well at least this could mean more available spare KA's out there for us since they're worthless

why did they waste the space? couldn't they have put a riced out honda pic in that space

maybe someone should point out many of the KA-Ts that own. I am thinking of going that route when i get enough cash. http://www.ka-t.org700whp, ya sure ka's suck right? they are boneheads.

super street isa bunch of tards!! the first 240 I ever had had a black top sr20det in it and I did not like it at all!! it cant boost very high because of the aluminum block and you have to rev it like a honda to get power! and another thing that poeple never think about with any jdm swap is these motors sit in junkyards for months some times years!! and if any of you guys have been to japan you know that is a bad thing! the humidity and salty air, mess these motors up and then there is the legal part of it how do you get it smogged, etc, etc, it just doesnt make sense when the 240sx comes with such a great engine! oooh yeah the only tuner mags that are worth reading are sport compact car and turbo mag, all the rest are just sad!!

The old SS used to be informational, they used to answer peoples questions with thought and good responses. Nowadays they just bash people like that article.

It was an appropriate response to the question.

Also, people smart enough to use a computer still read Super Street?

I am an avid reader of super street and i have to say, they dont know a durn thing about the KA. I almost puked when i read that comment and im not to happy with the lack of knowledge that they believe that they must give to the rest of the world. I mean come on, the put the b18 and b16 as one of the best 10 engines.......

Magazine staffs are made up of several writers and editors. Some mags just choose to hire idiots to fill a percentage of that staff.
