Hey there fellow NICO members I am need of some assistance. I am looking to purchase a S13 Hatchback (1989-93) around the end of this month. I have not been able to locate on locally, so I have been scouring the web and other resources to locate one relatively close by. My question for you all is this, HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO IN ORDER TO OBTAIN YOUR S13? Take into consideration the following factors: You will have to factor in transporting yourself to and from the location of the vehicle, and you will be purchasing from a stranger whether it be a dealer or private seller. I will do the best that I can to verify vehicle condition prior to committing, but I will prefer to have it inspected professionally before acquisition. All inputs would be appreciated, however please don't be a jerk.

I went 1200 miles to get my stock S14... Cleanest car I could find, one owner, driven by a lady, and had 76k miles on it . I'm glad I actually bought it, although I was initially scared doing so. I had a family member check it out, that was in the area. Then me and my father flew up and picked it up a month later. Beautiful car, the biggest mistake I could've made, was no getting the car.

Thanks for the replies, keep the votes coming. I don't have a lot of out-of-state contacts, and unfortunately I'm not getting the car for free. I've considered going out as far as the west coast, but I don't know if I can take off from work that long to drive back!

You won't find a decent car out there anyways... Everything has been ragged on hardcore on the west coast. Stick to this of the country... You'll find a better deal anyways, they have the prices jacked through the roof out there...

I was thinking along those lines as well, especially since D1 has caught on like the ebola virus. I really would like to find something relatively close, but I'm still keeping my options open if the price and condition are right. The further the distance, the more particular I am.

yeah, I've been watching those really closely because they are the most ideal choices based on location and price. When I get my refund check from school those are the options that I would like to choose from unless something more local should come my way.

Just spoke with a guy in Savannah, GA. He's got a '91 hatch SE w/ leather for right in my price range. Although I hate leather, I figured to follow up on it. He's working on getting the title still from his previous state (FL), but I will get him to send me some pics b4 I go down there. I can always get seat covers.
