With the manifolds on, there's absolutely no way this motor will fit in a 240sx without thousands of dollars worth of modifications.
The exhaust manifolds won't clear the frame rails more or less the steering linkage.
Fully dressed, this is a very heavy motor too. With a/c, alt, manifolds on, weight came out to 553 pounds.
As for the bellhousing, forget it...It's almost impossible to find a shop willing (and capable) to craft a one-off trans adapter to fit a manual tranny.
Last problem is tranny selection. Thy Z32 flywheel actually bolts up to the VH but again, bellhousing won't work.
It's a cool idea for a swap, but my main priority is bang-for-the-buck. This is a far too time-consuming process with an engine that doesn't offer any real advantage in terms of power output. An SR or CA with a few bolt-ons could match the VH45DE on straights.
So...I've focused on three other engines, all local junkers that actually run.
1. 3.2L Ford Taurus SHO engine (beautiful plenum, incredible top-end for a n/a 3L 6-cylinder).2. 4.6L Cadillac Northstar V8 (massive torque, incredibly light, even lighter than an SR+ turbo's, accessories, decent selection of hop-up parts, good block rigidity)3. VG30ET (it's been done before, turbo, very light-weight)
Still picking brains.
