After personally searching for the correct way to wire an MSD ignition I realized there was not a straight forward answer, it was always links to links. Just do a search on MSD BTM and you will see. I just finished mine tonight and it runs great, better than ever. I have a 91 DOHC, so this may or may not work on 89-90 or 95-98.
-Thick red goes to the positive battery terminal-Thick black gets grounded
-Thin black will go directly to the negative terminal of the coil which will replace the exisiting green and black wire (stock or aftermarket) I'm using a MSD coil-Orange wire will go directly to the positive coil terminal which replaces the Black and Red wire (stock or aftermarket)
You will need to use the White wire on the Msd box instead of the magnetic pickups.-The White wire will tie into the Green and Black wire-The Red wire will tie into the Black and Red wireSo basically the original coil wires runs to the Msd, gets amplified then powers the coil by means of the White and Red wires.
Hopes this helps
