NO! lets think this out... a fwd transmission will NOT fit into a rwd car... well it wont be pretty or install correctly. There are RWD sr20de's out there... expect a price anywhere from 500-950 for a nice one.

You can get RWD sr20de's with wiring, ecu, and transmission pretty cheap ($500 or less) so considering the FWD motor would need a lot of work to make work (if it would work at all) and a bunch of extra parts, it's not even worth it to try.

A engine swap is not the only way to make power. You can turbo the motor you have right now and make plenty of hp. If your motor is healthy then go for a KAT. Personally I never had much luck with turboing a motor that was never meant to see boost.

engine may be 130$ but you'll end up spending quite a bit more for a rwd transmission and any custom fabbing and this and that. you could easily get a rwd sr20de for probably half the price.

the FWD motor will not work period. there are too many differences in the block and the way it's cast from its RWD cousin. The distributor is on the back of the camshaft, so it will interfere with installation by wanting to occupy the same space as the firewall.

The block is also a different length between the variants. I once, for kicks and grins, put a FWD head on a RWD block, and they were way off in dimensions.

also, the FWD motor is missing a few things that the RWD motor has, such as the piston oil jets that squirt oil on the bottom of the piston.

So in short, a FWD motor will not work on a RWD chassis.
