I'm trying to make a list of all the people that are interested in the ECU that Robert is developing for the Y33. The purpose of this list is to see how many person are interested and hopefully it will boost his confident in the developing process. Thanks!

I've told Robert I would, but I wonder how much improvement can be had from this engine as it seems to have no faults now. The best thing in my opinion would be a good set of headers like the Impul.

Only had my car a few months; The first thing I need to learn here is how to set this car up to run to it's capacity now, which it sure isn't.Then I'd be interested in this and other improvements.

I would for sure, it will be one of my final mods, and I'm just about finished with her already.

The problem with the Y33 is that when I get it all figured out it is likely to be expensive, at least compared to the G50 stuff.

At a minimum I MIGHT be able to do them for $150-200, depending on if I can find a source for processor chips in the US (it's an obsolete chip, which makes it hard), and if I can get really good at the desoldering/soldering process.

If I cannot, and I have to do it with a board, $200 is on the low end of what it will cost. It's likely to be closer to $300, depending on how many I order. The more people do it, the cheaper it will be.

I know the Y33 shares ECU design with the R33 skyline and A33 Cefiro/Maxima/I35, so maybe there is a possibility of selling the boards to others.

Like I said before there is still a lot of work to do, and I've got a book due in a couple of months that will severely imact my ability to get this done anytime soon.

I would spend up to $300 depending on the gains I would see out of it.

That's the other thing, too. I would have to find someone with a Y33 that could spend a day with me running dyno pulls to get the tune right.

How's about workin on some exhaust options for the y33!! Does magnaflow have any dual in rear mufflers that are stainless with tips. Basically a similar style to what is on the car. I can't seem to find any stainless rear mufflers with a dual in option.

no dual in w/ tips already. so limited in its universal appilcation it doenst make sense to manufacture. I wish they'd make a cat-back, but as you can tell from the Y33 owners thread there are just far to few people for me to even justify making a kit.

Rob,

If you could make the ECU as good as the JWT setup for Maximas, you would make some REALLY good $$$ on that. TechnoSquare used to make ECUs for the 4th gen Maximas with great results, and Jim Wolf had one of the 1st ECUs also. Everytime a JWT or TS ECU pops up in our classifieds for 300-400 dollars its sold instantly to someone. If you are interested, shoot me an E-mail at [email protected] and we can talk bout this in depth. Lots of us bought Emanage Ultimates hopping we can get the timing advance to work, but Greddy didn't make the software for the VQs good enough and it does not allow advance. There have been 20WHP gains from a CUSTOM TechnoSquare ECUs on 4th gen Maximas... and if that where to repeat itself you would sell eassily 30-40 ECUs right off the bat.

I am waiting for a 94 ECU for my Q also

If we got 20WHP with this setup, we might be beating up on G50's.

Ahhh nevermind, Wes won't let that happen.

Not much if you haven't done your camshaft timing chain guides.

Welcome in (everyone from WA joins after I leave) and do lots of reading, starting with the Chain Guide post in the Articles Forum.

YES! Though, obviously, I have no interest in VQ30 ECUs.VG30E or VQ35DE ECUs, however, are RIGHT up my alley.
