i've got a noise presenet at idle that can only be described as a baseball card hititng every spoke on a bicycle. if i push the clutch pedal in only 1cm (the slop), it gets alot quieter, but still present. the only thing i thought possible would be loose flywheel but i distinctly remember me calling my neighbor over when i was putting flywheel in to hold the crank bolt tight while i torqued the flywheel down. i may be wrong however im not sure, anywhere ever heard of / seen this??

throwout bearing or however it's spelled. it looks like a donut. they're pretty cheap. gotta take off your transmission =)

your pretty sure its that?i got a new one with my ebay clutch but just like my clutch the ebay tob may be crappy as well. Im dropping the transmission tonight to re-do flywheel bolts with right torque and red loctite, is there anyway to check if its the tob with it off? spinning it? since noise changes drastically with clutch movement i'm thinking its drivetrain related and not bearings or something, some reassurance would be nice

when i installed tob i didnt get it machine pressed on, just hammered, think this could be it? transmission is off I'm going to inspect (how??) my tob, replace if necessary, get that machine pressed on and redo the flywheel bolts with red loctite to 80ft-lbs. anything else i should do inside there while its off so i need not go back again?

be annoying for a while then seize up and leave you broken down somewhere.

honestly its such apain to pull the transmission I dunno why you don't just spend the $20 or so and take care of it right.

a very sweeping statement, I've fitted loads like that and not had a problem

its a precision engineered bearing designed to pressed on..... if you carefully use a mallet and something roudn to evenly apply pressure you could probably gently tap it on without damage. If you hammered it on and now its causing you problems, you probably ****ed it up.

I can't count how many I've hammered on w/o a problem.
