thats where the folding mirror toggle button is located on SE models equipped with it.

Whatever, I replaced the mirror for aerodynamics and color anyways.Unfortunately they're the ****ty ones with a turn signal on them. I just want to replace the signal with blue or white running lights.

thanks for that post... very useful to cover up, but if you're slightly handy w/ a dremel, you can ghetto-fab a piece for the hole & just use some hot glue gun action to keep it in place, while having the ability to pop it off easily when upgrading...

these were fabbed up a while back when I installed an aftermarket driving lights under the pignose openings & when I didn't know any better about the dash lights blowing up

(d/t radio theft=touching exposed wires= blew the white box TCU? that's hidden under the d/s kick panel near fuses)

I've already repaired the TCU unit w/ some solder & that 2nd switch is now just waiting for an accessory for me to add...

Funny, I just ordered one of those a few days ago. Was it originally a change thing? I don't remember... lost it a long time ago.

I popped a mirror control out of an SE to fill the hole though, but I'm getting that to mount a switch on or something.

Shipping is way too expensive for that little thing... about $11 including shipping.

u sorta answered your own ? about that ... that panel is to cover that hole for basic cars w/out power mirrors. The change thingy on my 1989 is located under the hazard lights & rear defrost buttons; holds a handful of quarters well, but I use the ashtray for a more effective change holder.

Most base models I see are missing that. I had a hard time finding one of them a while ago and the dealer thought I was talking out of my *** when I asked for one.

My base model did not come with that. I went to the dealer and they had it for 4 bucks, I didnt even have to wait becuase they had one in stock.

i wasnt missing it when I bought my car. But while, I was getting to know my car by searching all the lil nooks in it, I didn't know what it was. So I tried to pop it out and it BROKE! haha! Not that big of deal I guess. I might buy it if I have 4 dollars left over after my turbo haha

I had a console piece, but it cracked into two pieces. I went to a junkyard and pulled one with a folding mirror switch. Now I have a folding mirror switch, but it does nothing.
