Okay, I know that this topic is half dead, but here is a new spin on it. I have a turbocharger from, what I was told is a 1985 300zx. When I search the cartridge number it tells me that it is a 1989-1990. It is water and oil cooled. I have been told that it is a T3, and it looks similar to one seen on a earlier RB20 series engine. It does not use any of the mounting flanges on the intake and exhaust sides like you see on a nissan t25 or any other production t3s (thunderbird, mustang, old old Chrysler, etc). It would use a normal clamp down connector on either side, in fact, it still has part of an orange reducer on the exhaust of cold side. It's numbers are 14420-21p60 and 432277-3 (I searched the number here:
http://www.crturbos.co.uk/cat_08.htm). It has a .60 A/R on the cold side and .63 on the hot side. I have however been told that it is a TB03 instead of a T3. When I research the TB03, I find that it is a production model code that Garrett used that makes it a T28. It has a 7 bolt hole downpipe flange: 1 on top, two on either side at the top, and two at the bottom. On one of the sides, it has 2 studs in the side. It's flange on the turbine is rectangular 2 7/8 on the short side by about 4 1/4 inches on the long side. There are 4 bolt holes, 3/8 in dia., and separated by about 3 inches on the long side, and 1 1/2 on the short. The bolt holes (from center to center) measurements are about 1.75 on the short side and 3.5 on the long. Making it a T3 flange (researched using the new garrett GT Catalog:
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/do...4.pdf), Not a T25 or T28 flange. But I am getting some seriously mixed information here. Can anyone help me identify it as either a T28 or T3 or maybe some sort of hybrid. I can get more info if needed.
