Today I installed 300ZX diff. I'll tell ya Y33 should've had 4.083 drive from factory!I love my Old Lady again! One thing I've noticed that diff cover rubbs on suspension cradle (subframe) Check the pic I've attached!Cheers!

Instead of grinding do you think you could just take the Y33 rear case cover and slap it on the Z32 diff?

ZX diff holds a bit more oil which means better heat transfer (cooling) plus it has cooloing fins on the bottom. The pics is taken from 97Q45 web site as an example because I didn'ty take any during install. It takes 5 min with a grinder to clear that area w/o changing integrity of subframe!Cheers!

Yeah, more capacity is good and fins help. Remeinds me of my old Alfa where every aluminum lubrication sump was massively finned.

Sorry for not replying sooner. I just came back to Houston from evacuation because of hurricane Rita.

Petr, thanks for pointing out the clearance problem with the Z32 diff. I always thought that it was just a tight fit there. I'll take a look down there this weekend. The diff are still working fine like expected and there's no problem so far after 6,000+ miles.
