I'm looking into just replacing my rotors along with my pads, but all the places I look at want to know if it's an ABS equipped 240 or a non-ABS equipped 240 for the rotors.

Uhh which is it for the convertible?

Front uses ABS pads and rotors. Rears use non-ABS.

At least mine does.

all convertibles recieved the ABS pads and rotors. Even though it doesn't have the ABS control unit. The ABS pads and rotors were slightly larger than non ABS units, so non ABS equipment won't work right.

rears are the same between ABS and non ABS versions

I just learned this one the hard way. I had a caliper pin that was stuck in the bore of the caliper bracket. Bought a pair of used caliper brackets off a 240 coupe.

Nope. Too small.

At MonkeyZone, etc. you want the brake pads that end with the numbers 485. The 422s they will give you if you ask for regular 240 brakes are way too small.

Chalk one up to live-and-learn.

We’ll being that your new to the forums I thought that maybe you didn't read the whole thing and just answered the top post but hey don't get so defensive...

Now you can put non-abs rotors and pads they will fit they remember they are smaller. But what you were supposed to get is abs rotors and pads.

funny you say that, because i read this thread before i put my brakes on but after i already bought them... so i measured the thickness and diameter of the rotor with a dial caliper and they measured the same size... well actually the new rotor was a little bit thicker, but i assume thats from the origonal rotor being old... so i measured the pads and they were exactly the same...

so like i said my car doesn't have abs rotors/calipers on it..

No, you need ABS type rotors.
