I know that half the people on NICO have motorcycles, but I didn't get this because everone else has one. I've been riding dirtbikes ever since I was little, and ever since I sold my YZ250 2 years ago I've been itching for a sport bike, well I owned a pressure washing business over summer so I didn't even have time to get one and ride it, but I did get my M class license. Well now that school started again I'm no longer pressure washing so I was finally in a situation where I could aquire a bike.

It's a 1998 Suzuki GSX-R 600 (some of you might have seen my other thread on it). It has 15,000 miles on. I picked it up for $2,800 (the asking price was 3,500). Overall it's in great condition. The tires are almost new, it has frame sliders, Yoshimura pipe, polished aluminum bar ends, heel gurads, and chain gurad. The original owner was a girl (supposedly she was hott) and she put about 12,000 miles on it. And then the guy I boight it off of bought it from her and put about 3,000 miles on it.

Well here's the pictures. Here's a picture of the rear tireRacing cowlRear seatThe only two scratches on the bike.Notice the bottom of the black cover.and the Z decalAnd here's a few more pics with the rear seat on and one last one with me on it

I'm going to register the bike on tuesday and insure it, but I'm not going to ride it intill I get all my gear, which will probobly be tuesday after I insure it since I don't think any stores will be open tommorow on Labor Day. I plan to keep this bike till the end of next year, and then hopefully upgrade to a 750 or a 1000cc bike.

Hope you all enjoy the pics.

Yea that was the one, I think it was a good deal.

Yea some people like the seat some like the cowl, I kinda like them both.

great looking bike. I've thought about upgrading from my modded out F3 to a bigger displacement bike, but 600 cc's is definitely more than enough for the street.

The master cylinder is on the handlebars? That seems a little weird.

Looks like it's been down at very low speed once...but still, very good deal on a great bike.

nice bike, +1 vote for the seat cover, one-seater look. You might want to run outside and check on it though, some goofy dude is sitting on it

It was actually when he was moving it in his garage, it tipped over. (he was a small and scwrany type of guy, so I"m not suprised).

[(Young kid - experience) - control of emotions] + sportbike = dead/seriously injured kid lying on the road next to a smashed sportbike. Sorry, you're just not mature enough to handle it.

NICE looking bike, and that's coming from a guy that rides a cruiser.

Get you gear and enjoy riding, then decide if you need anything more. I think you'll be plenty happy, just start saving for tires today.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I put some flush mount turn signals on the back today. Since the previous owner got a fender eliminator kit and never put the blinkers on.

They wheelie very well, great balance, on the old SRAD's.

Be safe, and dont do stupid stuff like I did. Pysical therapy sucks.

I don't think that is a fair statement. I am an agressive nutjob and I manage to catch myself before I get in over my head. Get a bike if you want, just don't get a ginsu knife like an R1 or a GSXR that will toss you the first time you screw up. Get something less aggressive and seek out some experienced responsible riders to roll with. I have noticed that most wrecks are influenced by an impressionable newb riding with idiots who don't mentor and push the new guy to try to "keep up". I have not seen very many solo wipe outs. Leave the machismo at the curb and don't let your balls write a check your *** can't cash.

That wasn't a general statement, that was specifically directed to ghetto. Some kids can handle sportbikes, but not many, and judging from his behavior on here, he's just not mature enough.

Nice bike.Ive heard Gixxers are on the smaller side (as far as sportbikes go). You look pretty tall. How's it fit??

I took it out for a little ride today, after I got everything. I love riding it, I'm still learning to lean more into turns and properly turn into them, but it's fun. My insurance is really cheap. For general liability and $1,000 that will cover medical costs on me I pay $390 for the whole year, I'm only 17. (No tickets, no accidents, good student)

I haven't really sat on many other sport bikes, but it doesn't seem too much smaller. I've sat on a 00 ZX-7 Ninja and it seemed smaller than my bike, maybe it's just me though.

Take solice in your consistency, it should make you feel good that you dropped the same line of BS both times .

I should get a sport bike, though with the new/stickier tires, I was rubbing the foot pegs opn my loser-cruiser.
