looks NICE man! I'm not a big fan of that FMU but if you keep things reasonable with the boost I think you will be okay. First priority should be getting some better management, but otherwise everything looks pretty clean and well done. Nice job!

I know it's not the best thing but I have SR injectors cleaned and tested and a S-AFCII ready to be installed. The boost isn't going to be higher than 7 PSI for now, and actually it feels planty fast even at 7 psi for now!

Looks nice and clean! I want to see the rest of the car!

But....plumb that rubber line from the valve cover (part of the pcv system) back into the air inlet before the turbo, or eliminate the line and put a breather filter on the valve cover....don't just leave it flopping around uncovered...

Thanks everybody. There are deffinitely a lot of things to complete, and I would take care of them all. The heat shield is a piece of aluminum, that I bent on my knee. It looks like it is working good. and there is a thermo pad around the brake master cylinder tank. It's just I really want to be able to stop!

The only problem I see is that loud exhaust sound when the wastegate is open.

Hey, Alan!

We have met right before I started this project. You were still working in SilviaWerks here in Houston! You gave me some helpful links, remember?

Looks good! Did you fab the IC piping yourself, or have someone weld it for you? What's the power band like w/that mani/turbo? Also have you run into any heating issues, or was the wrap/shield just precautionary?

Cheers!Jamie

are you running a open dump pipe for your wastegate or is it recirculated back into your exhaust?

Hey, Russians! It's nice to know you are here! To sunnus14: Yeah, it's a open dump, it's loud and I don't like it. But one good thing about it is that I know for sure when it's opening!

To slipnfall: I did all the welding/fabrication myself and with no garage or even air tools. To tell you the truth I got tired of it very fast, but didn't want to quit! I have stock radiator and electric fans and haven't had any problems so far, and it has been 97+ everyday here in Houston since I finished. About powerband; for some unknown reason I get 7 PSI at 3000 rpm at WOT sometimes even earlier, and this is with 0.63 A/R exhaust housing. So it's very easy to drive.

Here are some pictures of IC.

as for engine management, you should get the bikirom as soon as some usdm people get it in their cars, http://www.bikirom.com also i just bought my jgs mani, is the flange just welded 90 degrees from the exhaust flange... between the two middle runners? oh yeah, and how did you end up doing the plumbing for the intercooler?... 7psi should haul some ***, dont act suprised, you already know KA's rock

I welded all Ts and elbows first to the flange (all of them had to be shortened in some way or another) Do not weld the turbo flange on untill you test fit it in the engine bay. I don't know why but in my case this was tight fit, I even had to bend brake lines a little. And for IC plumbing I just had no 1100 bucks for a complete kit, plus I wanted to learn how to weld. With the intercooler the whole thing cost me about 350 bucks. 230 for the IC and 120 for aluminized steel pipes.

But I don't think I would do it again, ever. The problem with doing everything yourself is that you get frustrated more, and it takes longer.

I was expecting to see a junkyard turbo setup. this is nice. about how much did you end up spending altogether for what you have so far? and also, is that the 350z blue?

Yeah, I would love that, but to tell you the truth I'm not that comfortable with electronics and actual tuning, unfortunately. Mechanical part was time consuming but relatively easy, now it's time to find someone who can help with setting up the S-AFC for now.

To mirra32: I'm on west side I-10 - BW 8.To drifteador: yes it's a Daytona Blue from 2003 Z, I was doing some other things besides turbo on this car like (3 inch exaust, suspension, wheels, paint, carpet and even a new engine) so I can't tell you exactly. I think it's around $1500 for turbo things, may be less. Here are some more pictures.

wow so do you live in an apartment? I'm glad to see me and my cousins aren't the only ones who go out to the parking lot with tools, jack up the car and start working on things out there. =)

Where in Houston are you at? I'm over here on southwest side...close to westhimer and beltway 8. Maybe you can teach me how to weld things ;O

Very clean car.

Hey, XingYu!I'm very close to you, about 10 minuts or so. About welding - here is the thing, my technic is bad, nobody ever tought me how to weld. I'm sure it's all wrong, but I like it. To be able to teach somebody I suppose to have real skills, believe me I almost don't. The best is to learn from the best or least knowing people. But we can deffinitely meet, weld something if you have a welder, take a look at each others cars, go race in Baytown!Mishka.

Love the color and the wheels!

Must feel good to complete such a project. Nice work.

I'm no welding expert, but the IC pipes look pretty good to me. Ive seen shops make crappier welds. I guess the true test is how well it holds up.

The welds look pretty clean to me compared to some others I've seen. Atleast you know what to do...I don't know where to begin. Well not really. If you could show me once or something I can think of how to do it lol. I wouldn't mind meeting. I'd like to see another KA-T. Baytown sounds good for my stock s13 =D. Just PM me or something.
