so last nite, i Finally got my new msd blaster ss coil installed and i followed nissanfanatic's (Cory) directions on the thread posted about two weeks ago. His directions were good enough for me but I ended up writing down my own set of directions so here goes:
Step One: Disconnect the battery so that you dont die. lol
Step Two: Solder on a crimper onto 12 gauge wire (wire #1) coming from battery
Step Three: Solder on fuse holder onto 12 gauge wire (wire #1) coming from battery (so try to put this close to the battery............i could have put mine closer)
Step Four: Run this 12 gauge wire (wire #1) to terminal 30 on the relay and then solder on crimper onto the end of this wire (wire #1) so that it can connect with terminal 30
Step Five: Cut black and red wire from stock coil plug and solder a red 12 gauge wire (wire #2) to it. Extend this wire and run this to terminal 85 on the relay. Solder on crimper to this wire (wire #2) so that it can connect with terminal 85.
Step Six: Cut Green and Black wire from stock coil plug and solder a black 12 gauge wire (wire #3) to it. Extend this wire (wire #3) to the negative side of your msd blaster ss coil and solder a crimper to the end of this wire (wire #3). Connect this wire to negative terminal of the msd blaster ss coil.
Step Seven: Take a new 12 gauge red wire (wire #4) and solder a crimper onto one end of it. Then connect this to terminal 87. Then take the other end of this wire (wire #4) and solder another crimper onto it. Connect this to the positive side of the new msd blaster ss coil.
Step Eight: Take a new piece of 12 gauge black wire (wire #5) and solder a crimper onto one end of it. Then connect this to terminal 86. Then take the other end of this wire (wire #5) and solder another crimper onto it. Connect this to a bolt on the chassis as this is the ground for the relay.
Step Nine: Reconnect battery along with new found wire (wire #1) and start her up!
I personally can say that from moving from a stock coil to this one and by having it installed this way, my car feels alot sharper and a tad bit more responsive. I am still using stock wires BTW so im sure that when i change my wires to larger ones, i should really feel a difference. The car does start up alot quicker and i have seen some improvement (i think) in gas mileage. The gas mileage comment will be backed up after i fill up again and see if it was just a good tank of gas that just happened to b there. Pics will be up soon.
