Somebody pulled a hit and run on me in the parking lot on Monday. They hit the rear quarter panel under the gas cap and now I have some issues. First off when I filled up today (Friday), no pressure released when I unscrewed the cap. Also I noticed a stream of gasoline coming from under the wheel well as I filled up. This is marked in red as well as the size of the puddle it left. I tried to take the pictures as best as I can at 2:30 in the morning.

How much is this going to cost to get repaired at body shop and how should they be doing it? Also, how serious is this gas leak and how much is this going to cost me ?

Nobody? This is really urgent as its my daily driver and I don't think its safe to drive it this way.

Maybe the dent has knocked the pipe that carries the fuel from the refill port down to the tank off a bit. Can you get underneath and take a look at it?

Is it leaking all the time (i.e. while the car is running) or just when you fill up?

I took a look at it this afternoon and did not see anything or I don't know what I'm looking at. Also it’s only leaked when I filled up and the leak only lasted for a couple seconds. It was just enough to create a puddle the size of the red in the picture.

Do you know any good body shops around here that can fix both the tank and the dent?

Sadly, don't know any body shops as of yet - haven't been in town long enough.

If it only leaked when you filled up, (and it looks like it leaked from the top, judging by your picture) then the filler neck is probably just knocked off a little bit and some excess gas is spilling out. Should be an easy fix. Unfortunately I don't have a garage anymore...

I had a leak like that before as well. You can roll, but I wouldn't go too far. There's a soft rubber hose that could have been snapped or in my case had a rock rub a hole into it and cuases the same thing. There's a burping thing for the gas tank that runs around there. Look from underneath the car and see which hose got cut/snapped/popped off.
