I've noticed an odd squeak coming from my front right wheel area, that varies with wheel rotation speed. It sounds like a rodent squeak, once per revolution, and it only happens during a left turn - when I straighten the wheel or turn right, it makes no sound. I get no sense of metallic scraping, so I'm thinking it isn't a pad/rotor thing, but dunno.

Anybody heard this before? Rack? Bearings? The upper arm on that side wasn't replaced with the left one, but this isn't suspension travel, it's a once per revolution sound, and very short duration - just like the sound of a squeaking rat, heheh, like its tail is stuck to the tire, or sumpin. I'll be taking it into the Nissan dealer for an oil change this week, and just wanted to have some idea of what they should check on.

Sounds (literally) like the wheel bearing because it happens when cornering.I suppose it is possible to be a brake pad, but very unlikely.

To replace the bearing you can remove the entire steering knuckle and then bring it to a shop to get the new bearing pressed in. Make sure you order a new seal with the bearing. When I did this the seal was harder to find than the bearing.

Check lug nut tightness, check for a bent rim , and check brake backing plate for bend. Can also be slight warp on brake rotor causin gpads to float and squeak on the anti-rattle springs. very unlikely to be a bearing--they get very rough and noisy beofre they actually squeak.
