No, I need to find out what year my block is by locating my casting number. Then according to that I can order my Power FC because apparently there is 3 S14SR units based on what year the block is.

There is no way to tell the year by the block number. You can find out exactly when the engine was made based off of the VIN number. You can get a rough estimate by looking at the end of the coilpacks, they are stamped with the date they were made.

There are not 3 different S14 Power FC's, there are actually 5 but there are only 2 different generations of S14's.

The choices should be: old Power FC for S14 early gen 414-N002old Power FC for S14 later gen 414-N005new Power FC for S14 early gen 414-N013new Power FC for S14 later gen 414-N016Power FC with D Jetro for S14 early gen 414-N019

So you just have to figure out whether your S14 engine is early or late model. Late models are pretty rare but the easiest way to tell is look at the ECU. If you have an ECU that says WC or WE no matter what the color is then you have the early gen S14 SR. If the ECU has NA or the serial number 23710-80F00, 23710-80F10, 23710-80F70 then you have a kouki late model S14 SR.

Oh well then base it off the harness you are using. If the engine harness has a serial number beginning in 65F0* or 66F0* then use the early model SR power FC. If engine harness has 80F0* use the later gen harness.

You can still check the coil packs for a date if they came with the engine. But the power FC will go off of the harness you use not the date the engine was made.

Haha, this just keeps getting better. Alright, well this should do it. The Zenki and Kouki ECU's have different numbers of pins on them. Pick up the harness and look at the blue ECU plug and count how many wires there are.

Early zenki 1994-1996 on the right. Late kouki 1997-1998 on the left.
