Hi all,

I am curious to find out who has installed one of these controllers, difficulty installation, pros and cons of such an installation, and your general impressions and thoughts on the subject.

Additional, can you please update as to what product and model you are using, and why you chose this model, and where you installed the controller.

Thanks

I've been wondering what this thing is stuck up under the dash on the '89 Q45a, maybe you have some info on it?

Do you have a picture of it that's in focus? It reminds me of one of the cheap active suspension controllers I found before I bought mine (now owned by GreenQ45a). Check the wiring under your rear deck/shelf in your trunk, the harness may be a different color, etc.

If you have a model number for it though I can look it up for you.

Thanks CoreyThe name is "R spec" and I guess "ASG"is the model. When I push a few buttons the car will rise and drop, either sideways or front and back. Its on a RHD '89 Q45a JDM with 95000 kilometers. Hope this pic is a bit clearer.

Corey, here are a couple of pics of the trunk wireing. This is how it came from Japan. It's a bit of a challange!!!

Great pics Aussie.

FYI, your controller is an older version of R-Specs latest controllers. R-Spec is a subdivision of Datasystem (http://www.datasystem.co.jp/).

Mr.Q45a, I never got to install it unfortunately, but I intended on installing it in the ash tray (don't smoke) and simply riveting a hinge onto the ash tray door, then run the wiring through the back. Very stealthy and it easily fits while keeping the clean stock Q45a look.

Corey,

I was wondering if you could hunt down a wireharness on yahoo JP for me..

I have a bidding account @ Rinkya So I should be able to get it soon and perform a write up.

The correct harness is H-079 for the ASE664 Active suspension controller I got from you.

I also wanted to talk to you about that sound system you wanted EMail me...

I still think you have a few things coming your way. (even if the Active system trade went bust)

MrQ45a they are smaller than you think.

I will take better pics for later today.

Thx MiniMan, but I still can't figure out what its supposed to do or how I make it do whatever it's supposed to do!!!!

Aussie,

The answer to your 2nd question is easy enough. The controller controls the height of each corner of the car. I imagined the previous owner has set it to low and high modes (raise and lower the car). If my memory serves me correctly, you can effectively lower the car close to 2" and raise the car an additional 1". Unfortunately I can't find your specific model on the Datasystem website (http://www.datasystem.co.jp/catalog/ase/ase.html), but you'd need to find a user guide (which would be in Japanese unless ordered from R-Spec) to figure out how to control all of the functions correctly. FYI, those 4 bars tell you the height of each of the 4 corners of the car. It appears obvious enough though, that you're in need of a recharge, which explains your other thread!

Best of luck,

Corey

That's it!!! That's it!!!

Your the Yahoo JP hound dog.. I can't beleave you found it for only 40ish.

YOU ARE THE MAN Corey...

I want to get it right away..

That one was hard...

Try this on...

I want the Presidents Clear turning lamps. you know the one that goes on the fender near the bumper...

The US G50\HG50\Q45\Q45a comes with orange truning indicators..my old Maxima had "Turning Lamps\Turn indicators" similar to the Presidents setup...(the I30 Sedans also had "Turning Lamps") But that is still one Thing A 4300 Lb sedan needs.

I miss a few things about my Red Maxi Pad (Guages, Mileage, Turning Lamps.. I never understood why Nissan never thought the G50\Q45 didn't need them but the President got them... NOT FAIR.....

Anyway I never got the email from you..did you send it to GMail or MSN or PeoplePC???

Thanks again Corey...

Hey Jeremy,

Sent another e-mail... hopefully it makes it through this time! Sent it to all 3 accounts now (GreenQ45a@...).

This is the closest thing I could find up at auction right now, but it's still not 100% clear and has some sort of funky bulgy thing...

http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co...71053

Otherwise, get me to search again in a week and keep your fingers crossed something comes up!

Corey... God damn the M35/45 are HOT cars.

Hey Jeremy,

Looks to just be one now that I think of it. I always see these things up at auction. That one is up for $60ish bucks and at that price I'd say it's a tad expensive. Anywho, remind me to search next weekend for ya! I can find you another harness for the controller then as well (now that I have the number!).
