240sx w/Boost, SAFC & open vent BOV question

ok....boosted 93 240sx....havent finished everything yet...BUT...i was told that since im running an safc (1st gen digital blue screen) that it has a " feature " so i can run my BOV open atmosphere without the motor bogging down since i have a hotwire MAF. I dont want to re-route it back into the intake unless i have to but i know i dont have to. I just need to know what function is it and is there a wire i hook up for it...i have all the wires hooked up except the blue orange and pink wire i do believe. Do i have to do anything specific or go thru any screens to find this feature or does it just work automatically? let me know what i gotta do....thanks

The screen you need to set this is the deceleration screen, but setting it i'm not sure of.

well i found the dec. air mode....now i just gotta figure out what i set the 3 settings too...mmm...

to get a rough idea (i should get this stickied since i have answered this a couple times very recently):

have the engine completely coldget rpms to 1000 and write down the airflow %get rpms to 2000 and write down the airflow % and throttle %

go into dec.air. Thr set to the throttle % that you wrote downNe1 set to the 1000rpms airflow you wrote downNe2 set to the 2000rpms airflow you wrote down

this will get you very close, has worked great for me

Damn. I had wondered of how I would put my settings to all this time, and you've answered it right on the money for me. Thanks, and all I have to do now is finish redoing my engine so I can set them hehehe.

That is the one and only link you will ever need when it comes to setting the decel settings on the safc. Structure is right, mods should sticky that link or make a sticky of it.................

Sadly it's just a band-aid though. I had my set-up running like that for a while then when I upgraded to 14.7psi I recirculated it and LOVED it. Car ran smoother everywhere, less backfiring, easier inbetween shifts. I will never run open atmosphere on a MAF based car ever again. But I hope it works for you!
