I was just wonding what would be a better choice between these 2 coilovers and how do they feel. I wanted to get Flex for the EDFC, but thats over 1,5k, with that i can get spl/kts coils or maybe megan and have money left over.

So what would be a good choice between the two, KTS or Megan?

I don't even think they are in the same ballpark, even if Apexi makes them.

Apex'i doesn't make the Megans, both coiulovers are made by the same manufacturer. There's a bunch of guys runnin the megans out here and love em. The quality of them is really nice and i've considered them for my own vehicle, but I would lean more towards the KTS myself, and plan on going with them when I finally upgrade to coilovers.

get the 17x9+20's and you shouldnt need spacers, maybe some 5mm, idk. But 17x8+35 is weak sauce.

hey hey hey, i have them with 245/45's all around and they're flush, rear could stand to be bigger, but the 245/45 up front fits perfect.

Yeah, but do you think you'll be able to clear the KTS coilovers with that setup? I'm thinking the front will be pretty tight...

LOL, well im getting them all around for rotation. im not the type to have big wide rims with crazy offsets in the back and smaller ones in the front.

I'm going w/ KTS for 2 reasons:

1) can get z32 rear shock mount for the aluminum spindle upgrade

2) can get front height adjustment plate (cuz I'm a ho bag like that)

3) can get whole set of replacement coilovers for $550

4) shipping is $8

ok, that was more than 2. hahaha.

There's also a shock dyno on the site, which I have no idea how to read but assume it's good & possibly impressive, HAHA.

Why not 245/40 all around on a 17X8 with a 25mm offset? That should clear.... Me thinks

I thought that price was just for the replacement dampers.

for the two posts above:

KTS only makes KTS coilovers

It is for just the replacement dampers, which is still a good deal (new, vs rebuild for same cost with other coilovers.)

Just dampers? I must be misreading something

The shocks go out long before the springs anyway right?

Thats right. Springs will go eventually, but thats a cheap(-ish) part to replace.

You would be re-using:springsfront camber platesrear mounting platesspanerslower shock mounts

All that probably comes in the shock replacement kit are the shocks with threaded bodies.

My next buy is gonna be the SPL coilovers. Most bang for the buck, and I hove only heard good things about them. SCC magazine used a bunch of SPL parts on thier 300Z project a while back. Until then I had never heard of them. It is the best deal I can find for the type of setup I need though.

Yep, Mike Kojima, a well respected member of the Nissan community, was behind the Z32 project.

They just send you the threaded shocks. No hardware is included, no springs, etc.

I was trying to decide over the KTS, Megans and silk roads. I picked the silk roads. I also like the fact of rebuilding the KTS, they send you the cartridges and you don't have to send them in.

+1 for awesome KTS coilovers

don't forget that the front dampers are monotube... not a whole lot of coilovers have that for the price of the KTS.

and did i mention these things ride sooooo good?
