I will probably get flamed, but my original plans were to find a DE and turbo it, but I decided I think I want to try something different and turbo the E...the motor will be rebuilt first. I think my boyfriend said I could have his blown sohc so I will use that...

I just wanted some opinions from people who are wiser & more experienced than I am...

I'm aiming for about 250-260hp.

I know JGS has sohc manifolds: anyone runnin one of these, or know about them?

Any help or advice would be great, thanks!

good choice

My suggestion

:-) good luck on your project. You're definitely in the right community to get any help you might need!

my advice: invest in ALOT of PB blaster. those 15 year old bolts like to stay put.

ka24e's don't have to all be that old, they were put in the nissan trucks all the way up until the frontier came out, and they all had lower compression. I would grab one of those and go to town, imho.

the truck blocks don't have a girdle on the crank.(iirc) All truck sohc-t truck guys I know are switching to 240 motors before turbo. I have the JGS manifold and it is very well built. The pic on their webside is of my personal one, and I am very pleased with Lance's work.

it bolted right up. fit perfect only gripe is if you want to keep the AC the wastegate will hit on the line. you'll have to remove AC line or relocate the wastegate.

Ouch, I like my AC.

Brit, the JGS is a very good manifold. It won't ever have issues with cracking. They do excellent work.

You can easily put 250- 260 whp with good tuning.
