Recently I was given a chance of a life time to get a rb26 intake manifold I'm gunna get it, but is it worth it to get adapter plates made and the work to use it with the itb on my rb25, yes I did search and found someone who did it with a 20 but I cannot get in touch with him, has anyone recently tried this or attempted it ?

Here's what I think:

No, it's not worth it. The whole deal with the ITB's and the RB26 IM on another RB is sheisty. I think a better mod would be the Greddy IM. Why? Because you don't need ITB's on a single turbo 2.5. Plus, it's not an aftermarket mod.. it's a used part from another stock engine.

And.. even the stock RB25 IM is ok to 450hp (that's the concensus). So, unless you have a real reason for doing it (originality?).. then it's just a time consuming useless modification that'll only stress you out with all of the work in placing it on.

There are specific reasons why Nissan used ITB's on the RB26 and not the RB25. That says something.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be beneficial.. but the gains it'll give are not going to be anything amazing. And the money you spend on it won't justify the gain/s.. if any.

Hope that helps your decision.

main gains i forsee r tb relocation, suppposedely throttle response with itb, i can get it cheaper with adapter plater than a greddy, and it get a fuel rail, i already got top feeds waiting for it.greddy is like 650, 50 to ship and a tb is gunna run me 150 or a adapter might run me 100 ,even if i go with just a top halve thats gunna run me 300, an tb will run me 150, and i still need a fuel rail which will run me 150, biggest issue i see if modifying the rb26 intake manifold, here is a post on it http://forums.skylinesdownunde...30det

well... if you think it's a better idea, then I can't change your mind.

If you post this on the Skyline forums, you will hear the same things.

I am against it all the way. I'll probably get rid of mine down the line.
