Ok-So I love the look of the stock 85 Turbo wheels, but I crave the modern look of some nice rims. Upon researching, Motorsport carries nothing that is adaptable to the Z'a 5-lug pattern. And all the other vendors that sell wheels have nothing that is a bolt-up. Plus- using spacers is a no-no, so I am not sure what to do? Do any of you Z guys know where to get some nice looking wheels for an 85-T? (Possibly some 5/6 spoke gunmetals or black gloss with a polished lip?)Thanks,-Kev

the turbo z uses the most common bult circle ever! 5 x 4.5 aka 5 x 114.3, the problem is the offset it's a +20? so pretty much all the wheels you find are not gonna stick out as far as the stockers or they are gonna stick way out or you use some adapters or just run newer z wheels as they too are 5 x 4.5, ASA, Rage, TSW and Voxx make wheels that fit, there are others out there you just gotta dig for them

According to Z31.com- The stock offset for an 85T is 30mm. With that offset, It is still very difficult to find any bolton applications. Do you know and makes/models of and of those mentioned brands that fit?

At what width?

What size are you looking to use?

+30 even better, that makes it within 5 mm of a standard front wheel drive (+35 offset), just so we're clear thats less than 1/4 inch and just to make things more exciting modern motorsports makes an all aluminum hub for Z31's that move the fronts to a zero offset which is nice if you want more lip up front

and oh yeah, revolution makes a 5 spoke with a black center and pollished lip for the Z's as a matter of fact they will make them with the offset of your picking within a certain range, and they are a quality racing wheels

These numbers sound very similar to the Q45 wheel numbers we use for going larger, but staying inside the wheel weel. This makes me happy to think the existing rims I have may work if I find a Z31 .

Would these fit?The 30mm offsets are 18x8... not sure if those would fit a Z or not (maybe with a thin-band tire?)

Yeah AZ I saw your page and looked at it, no need for a double post.Stock specs: "84-85 all(except AE): 15x6.5 +30mm"to my understanding, an aftermarket wheel with the same offset should fit properly without spacers- correct me if I am wrong. And on your chart, the higest wheel size you list is a 17.Is that meaning a 18-inch wheel will not fit an 85T?The wheel size I was looking at was 18 inches with a 30mm offset Your table does not list 18 inch sizes, etc.All you have to say is yes or no if they will fit, or I can call someone and ask. I am not that knowledgable about wheels and tires as others, sorry. The reason I am posting is BECAUSE I do not know the specifics- You don't need to sarcastically repost a link and patronize me- You can't tell someone to go to a library and find a specific book, sometimes you need a librarian's help, understand? You know more about Z31s than I do, so give me a hand, huh?-Kev

the 18" wheels you mentioned with the +30 might fit, the backspace is the result of the offset in relation to the width, so a +30 of any diameter wheel with a 6.5 width will fit but a +30 on a 12" wide wheel will not, so if it's 7" wide you should be ok but if it's an 8" I'd keep looking

you will aslo want to pay close attention to the tires you choose and that their diameter is close to the origional, this might not be possible with some tires

The offset limits are posted. A slightly bigger wheel will not change the offset limits enough to warrant a second chart. I guess I'll just remove the diameter information since it appears to be confusing people.

Basically, a 18x8+30 may fit. But if it doesn't hit the strut housing, it will be so close you'll have to run narrower tires and create the stretched look.

The offset should be adjusted as the wheel width changes to keep the outer edge flush, without creating any "rubbing" on the inside.

Here's a nice little calculator that can help you see how much more or less inside and outside clearance you'll have with a wider wheel and it's corresponding offset.

The idea is you put in your existing rim size and offset as well as your "potential" new rim size and offset, then hit calc and it deisplay at the bottom how much more or less it will stick in towarsd the shocks and out towards the lip.
