It does look like the beginnings of a fiberglass sub cabinet.

PMQ, I love reading your posts. Everybod gives you so much grief, it's funny.

I hope you don't get discouraged, and stop posting. I need a little bit of light humor every once in a while.

If you make a rear panel, with sub mounts, that looks tasteful and covers the gas tank, while not taking up much more room in the trunk, I am interested.

By the way, those wings kill me.

Since some have guessed pretty close, here's a pic of kinda what he's working towards. A sub enclosure that would only take up a small piece of the trunk.

Humbley I say, I applaude him for his effort.

First, thanks Rex, Jeff, and USsil80 for being mature about it.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm making. I'm prepared to make the mold, so I can reproduce it for others. It'll be completely removable, lightweight, and about 1.5ft^3. I'll make some little volume reducers so the volume can be reduced based on the customers driver of choice.

Thanks Rex. What is that enclosure from?

That's actually from an S14 (95-98 Nissan 240SX).

He's in the process of making one that will fit the G50 (90-96 Q45), drivers side trunk. The Pass side on some of those years is where the factory CD changer would be.

PMQ, is the jack stored on that side in a pocket, and if so, how easily could the jack be moved to the spare tire well? (let me know if you need a few bucks for supplies)

The other idea would be to prefab up some type of enclosure that would fit ontop of/astride the tank and be completely hidden when the trunk liner is in place.

Yo P that looks nice. You could also fab up a plexiglass cover with a neon light in there. It would look cool and trick.

Can I get a head count: How many of you would be interested in purchasing a custom fit sub enclosure if it looks OEM?

I wonder if id be able to keep my bottle in the car and have a sub..

Another thought I had today in my AP lit class... maybe make it a ported box and have hte port go right into the opening for the jack..... How does that sound... When i had my ported sub and pointed it right toward the body it made it really loud.....

Yep, you'd be able to fit your bottle in there. Now, I have to check again, but you may even be able to put the bottle next to the gas tank. Then you could mount the electronics up where the 10/6disc changer goes. It'd look pretty much stock.

Ah, you are kind of like me wes. I have been known to sit in class for like an hour just thinking about what I can do with enclosures/cars/speakers/women.

Anyway, that might be a good idea, but one problem. When taking orders, you'[d have to specify EXACTLY what sub you are going to use so I could make and install the proper sized port for you. ANyways, yes it's pheasable. If that's what you want, sure I'll do it.

Hey wes, how much space is there between where your battery is located and the side wall?

Could you fit the bottle infront of the battery case?

You're getting rid of the race cell, correct?

Yeah, that circuit board could easily be mounted behind/near the CD changer.

No one said I'm working on my stereo. I don't really have any intentions of permanently installing a sub in my Q, right now at least. I'll put a few in the enclosure to test it out, but then I'll be selling the enclosure(s) to Nico memebers.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm really doing this to get a little bit of cash, and it's kind of fun for me.

I'm not really sure of the price yet. I'm thinkink between $50 and $100 to atleast account for the materials and labor.
