I am embarking on a crusade to replace turbine sensor w/o R+R transmission. I am planning to lower/tilt engine about 1-2 inches thus gaining a bit more access to turbine sensor. I am planning to extract it from the top. Has anyone done such procedure (I now "Mr. Byron" has done it) w/o major complications?I have cleared everything around the engine. Exhaust is loose. transm mount is loose, but no off. I will also remove fan and shroud to eliminate possible interference. It appears that engine/suspension cradle is held by 4 big bolts. If I exercise caution I should be able to undo 4 bolts and lower the cradle with hydro jack (platform type). I am planning to use 2 longer bolts as guides to not to misalign the cradle when lowering/raising.

Thanks!

Figure out where it is and pull the carpet away, then bore a hole 2" through the trans. tunnel. That's how I did it on a '90

-took about 2 hours.

I've read your write up on turbine sensor. I did go that way first, but I stumbled upon double bracket right over a spot I needed to drill a hole.I got it all situated, so I am diggin in. Cheers!
