Okay guys, I'm getting ready to do a sr swap in my 240 pretty soon, but first I have to decide on one little detail first - where to buy my motor from! Enjuku and Heavy Throttle seem to be the two biggest/most trusted places I know of. Any comments of quality of motor, customer service, troubleshooting, etc. would be appreciated. Also, if anybody has any suggestions on buying a motor from somewhere other than these two that would be great too.

Thanks

Luke

I've never heard of anyone having problems with Heavy Throttle. I personally bought mine from there. Both companies have great quality and service. You won't be disappointed.

They are both great places, phase2 is also blue chip SR provider

I would go whgichevr is closer as the good places are all equal.

their final price, after shipping, shoudl be able to aid you to your decision

also check out HT's swap package, they throw in a few stuff for a little more. I don't remember enjuku doing this.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm glad to see nobody has anything negative to say about either Enjuku or Heavy Throttle-all positve comments. I live in SC so Enjuku is actually closer but I think I'm going to go with HT.

Im going to be getting my SR from either Phase2 (paid them already but need to check shipping from Enjuku) or Enjuku...I have money but need the engine by Friday 22th, so whoever can get the engine to me faster is whom im gonna go through. Im checking with Enjuku now but its saturday so they not there til monday prolly..hopefully Phase2 will come through but Florida is so much closer to Arkansas than Cali. Im so anxious. ALL 3 companies have great service, techs, communications. Good luck.

Both solid.

I would not hesitate to drop money with EITHER company and have full faith that they'd deliver (and then some).

Jeff @ HT and Ken @ Enjuku are BOTH class acts.

i have mixed feelings about heavy throttle. i am not bashing them but i have to share my experience. i bought the basic swap package and had them install it. the first thing that fried me is that i paid for my engine, but for some reason they gave my engine to someone else bc my car wasnt there at the moment. i think if this would have been avoided my problems would not exist. then it seemed like it took forever for the swap, i was told 3 weeks and it turned out to be 2 months, and even then it seemed like i was rushing them, like i wasnt a high priority. 7 grand is high on my priority list.

well my sr leaks oil every where. it starts very very bad when it gets like 50 degrees out. it feels slow. BUT it has been more than a year since i got my car and it has started every day.

it just sucks bc i spent almost 7g with them and every one makes fun of me for having the junk 240. now i understand that my car was in the shop when they were changing shops so maybe the employees they were possibly letting go didnt really care about my rusty 240sx, but this is new york, rust happens. i am just upset that i probably got one of the worse swaps from them.

but as for customer support they are the best ever. i can call and usually talk to jeff or doug within a few minutes if not right away. **props to doug for having a gf who loves cars** i remember when i pulled my valve cover do diagnose some leaks and i lost one of those chrome bolts, jeff just sent me one free. and another time i thought i need a fpr, and another time i snapped a valve cover stud, all free, s/h and all. i really appreciate that stuff.

and of course i found out that my turbo is bad this summer. its just one thing after another with my 240. so now i have a non rusty 240 to swap over to, and i will get my turbo rebuilt, and try to fix the oil leaks and pray for the best.

jeff, you are the man, dont hate me for telling ppl how much of a sh**y life i have. its not you guys, its just my luck, or lack there of... i am the only case of a swap from you with any complaints that i have heard of in more than a year. its just too mad it had to be me.

go to heavy throttle, its the only place i go to.

I bought my s14 sr from heavy throttle. My motor actually got to me faster than I expected, jeff sent my wiring to yuri at wiring specialities for me, sent my ecu to jwt for me, and they give the best tech support ever. He even found a set of hks cams for me that were out of stock every where. S14 cams in 256/264 are hard to find during race season. My motor is excellent, the swap was easy, the cams allowed me to keep the vtc, the perma cool fan thermostat didnt work, so they sent me a new one 2nd day air, and they gave me a free service manual for the ka and sr on a disk. Jeff, Jess, and Doug are great. Heavy Throttle is the only place to buy a motor from.

I decided last spring to get the basic swap package from HT. I am very pleased with my purchase. There were a couple of hicups such as a bad coil pack and the shipping company did a little damage to the motor but Jeff took care of all of it with no delay. Customer service is class act.

Here is a little story about enjuku and heavy throttle...

I was waiting on my FMIC back in the days when EVERYTHING for an SR was either special order or backordered.

I wanted a blitz FMIC and had contacted both companies. I had gone through Enjuku for all of my stuff up to that point so i went with them for the IC. It took a while for them to come off back order from both companies but HT came off first and got some in. I called enjuku, they called HT and aparently i got an IC from heavy throttle. That's what kind of customer service they provide. HT had it first so enjuku hooked me up with them.

Also... i bought my swap from enjuku... here is the kind of product the sell.

i bought all of my stuff from heavy throttle and i love it. they have awsome customer service and i never had a proplem. i have also gotten emails on the weekends which was awsome. when i placed my order i asked if they did deals for large orders and they hooked me up with a little discount, granted it wasnt huge but they didnt have to and they still did and thats why i have always gone to them.
