I ordered the April 25, 1994 AutoWeek, that has the article on the Q29 in it. As soon as my partner returns, with the scanner, I will scan in the article. That motor is SWEET! Nothing but chorme and polished aluminum.

It is a 1929 roadster body, on a 1932 chassis, with a complete Q45 drivetrain. As soon as Craig gets in, I'll scan in the article and pictures.

Would have made a cool Plymouth Prowler competitor! A classic roadster with a real V8 instead of a 3.5 V6.

Oh well, the market for that kind of car is only as big as my pinky toe anyway.

I posted a couple of photo-links of this in the "Transplanting a Q45 in a Hotrod" thread last month. The car was built by rodder Joe MacPherson, who apparently owned several Tustin California dealerships including Infiniti of Tustin. The Q29 won the AMBR title in 1994 at the Grand National Roadster Show in Oakland.

I spoke to someone at Infiniti Tustin who said the roadster was in a museum somewhere.

Heehar. Let's just get a Super7 kit and throw a VH in it. Acceleration good. Handling not.

Neither does the seating look that comfortable. But it does precede the Lexus V8 hot rod, and presumably the running gear would include the Q45 G50 suspension, but it appears not to in the front.

I don't know, it looks like leather seats. It's a little cramped, but if they used soft leather it'd be good.

I think the point is, anyone that buys a convertible, then complains abot the lack of winter time warmth, didn't buy the right car, or doesn't understand the purpose of the car.

It's a street rod, it's all about style/being unique, not comfort.

Who was complaining about the warmth?

I've seen some very comfortable street rods.

Was told it is a 1929 Ford body, hence the name Q29. Go figure.

It was supposed to be an analogy, and like a joke no one laughs at, it didn't work .

Yes, more comfortable seats can be found in street rods, but aren't considered true to being a street rod. It could be said they lost the "true" street rod-ness by putting a VH in it??

I think I agree, the name doesn't work for me either .

Oh, I get it. You're like that one teacher that everyone has had... Who's humor is dry as a prune. . Just messin with ya.

Hot roads are cool in that they are unique, but that's just my opinion. A company could mass produce a true hodrod and I'd still like it's uniqueness
