Hi, I just bought a 2006 M35, and the previous owner switch from XM to Sirus. I read a lot on how to make the switch and it doesn't seem to be too hard. Anyways my question is if anybody wants to trade Sirius module for an XM module please let me know, or if someone has one for sale.

Thanks in advance.

It's very easy to change from XM to Sirius (I did it) but more difficult to go the other way. The Sirius tuner is smaller so it will fit into the XM bracket. Of course the larger XM tuner will not fit into a Sirius bracket.

The BUS and antenna connections are the same but the XM antenna has two leads to connect to the tuner. The Sirius tuner only has one antenna input. Not a problem - just connect one from the original XM antenna (it's color coded) and it will work fine.

Someone said on an earlier post that if you connect the one lead from the XM antenna to a Sirius tuner it will work, but you lose something in coverage when you're in a large city. Because you will receive the satellite signals but not those from the land based repeaters. These are said to prevent sigbal drop when the satellite signal is blocked by tall buildings, tunnels etc. But I've run my Sirius conversion in and around Houston for six months without a problem.

I'm not sure if the effect is the same if you connect the one antenna lead from a Sirius tuner to an XM tuner (that has two antenna input connections).

You could side-step all of these issues by changing the tuner, bracket and antenna. But that will be a big install. Just swapping tuners only tales a few minutes.
