2009 EX35 RWD Journey, with Nav., Luxury Package, Rack Crossbars, Rear Protection Plate and Cargo Mat.
MSRP was $41,170, We Paid $34,600. I make my living working with the auto industry, I expected the dealer to make a profit, I simply wanted to make a fair deal. We loved the color combination, it is liquid Platnum with Stone Interior. One of the features we just love, the parking sensors and around view monitor, it makes parking in our garage so easy, our last i30 had marks from hitting stuff.
I think the EX35 is a wonderful vehicle for empty nesters like my wife and I.

| I feel a little silly, after viewing the post on this site, I paid more than you folks. My wife and I had been shopping for a new car for several months, we were looking at smaller sedans, BMW 3 and 1 Series, Infiniti G Sedan, Lexus IS and VW Jetta. When we looked at the 2009 Infiniti EX we saw a vehicle that fit our needs. Small enough to fit into our small garage area, small enough to offer fuel economy close to most of the vehicles we were looking at, it was the only vehicle that I was comfortable, we both liked the siting height, we just really liked the car. We looked at it as an upgraded, more useful small sedan, not a SUV. We also wanted RWD, we live in California. The other reason we went with Infiniti was our past experience, we owned a 2001 i30 since new and loved the car and service. 2009 EX35 RWD Journey, with Nav., Luxury Package, Rack Crossbars, Rear Protection Plate and Cargo Mat. I think you paid just about right. The deals on the 2008 cars are a lot better than 2009's. You got a car with 1 less year of depreciation.

I just bought my 2009 EX35 in Atlanta this weekend.
Paid $34,035
MSRP $41,070
Nav, Roof Rails, Bumper guard, splash guards and Cargo mat....
Infiniti of Gwinnett! I live in FL. We did entire deal over the phone. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Ask for Dragan Cvorcic.
I traded in a 2004 Lexus GX470. This is much smaller. That was my 3rd Lexus and never thought I would get anything else. But price for being this loaded would have cost me 10k more for a Lexus RX.
I think I got a pretty good deal.

If you've purchased a new Infiniti since 8/29/09 and want to receive a $500 American Express gift card, send me the following information:
VIN, First and Last Name, Street Address, City, State, and Zip Code. (Sorry, looks like you must be based in the US).
I'll submit the info and email you a screenshot, you'll get a $500 AMEX card within 8 weeks and I'll get a $150 card for referring you. I know it works because I got it for my purchase earlier this year.
First to email me the above info to njb045 @ gmail.com will get the referral bonus!

btw, I think the Bose radio is exceptionally good, something I hadn't noticed when I drove the car. But I think the road noise (from tires?) is pretty high for this pricey a car.

Hey, great price on your vehicle! How did you manage to work out such a deal? I was quoted $44,258 plust the GST for the same full load car. Stupid thing is, this is a demo vehicle with 650Km's on it!
Now I'm beginning to think this deal is not great at all.

Post Title: Considering EX35

| I am concerned about buying this vehicle now because of all the talk how it hasn't sold well and there is limited supply because of stopped production and then the 2010s are going to be slightly bigger- should I be worried, I really like the car and the interior and gadgets are phenomenal for the price. Will resale be an issue- I anticipate not having the car for more than 5 yrs and the rate I can get from my credit union and the discount on the car- I don't think leasing will be as economical. For a few thousand more, I can purchase this car for the same monthly payment and then hopefully it will be of some value when the time comes- I mean it is a Infiniti- my husbands 2005 G35 is worth 20k and we only paid in the low 30's for it, so that is good! I realize I shouldn't be solely looking at this vehicle as investment for profit but I also don't want to get "stuck" and the vehicle become obsolete. Modified by JP123 at 6:49 AM 9/22/2009 |
First off, the 2010's won't be "slightly bigger". It will probably have thinner front seats for the rear passengers. But Nissan/Infiniti will never change anything other than the headlights/taillights and bumpers until 2012 at the earliest, when the full model change happens.
Secondly, given how poorly the EX35 is selling now, I personally believe there will no follow-up to the EX35. Just like Lexus canned the IS300 Sportcross wagon. Just like MB canned the C23 hatchback. Just like Mazda canned the Mazda 6 liftback.
Given the above, I do not think the EX35 will become "obsolete", as Infiniti will not produce a newer version of it in 2012. I think EX35 prices will stabilize once the current (and in my suspicion, final) generation ends its production run.

My name is Leonardi & i live in ann arbor, MI. I just purchased an AWD EX35 3 weeks ago. Basically, i bought the base ex35, i prefer to call my type "The base of the base," hehe. I had it for $33,500 OTD, so worth it i think with the size, engine HP, features, & trunk.

| my wife and i are looking at the ex35 as our next car. we have been to the local infinity dealer here in raleigh 2-3 times and looked at the ex35. we both like the style, performance, comfort and gadgets! basically talking to the dealer, we were unsure if we wanted to buy or lease. were leaning towards a lease though. we've never leased before and like the idea of having an upgrade/change in 3yrs time. the delaer was quoting around $525 per month on a 2008 ex35 brand new. thats with every option though! even the 360 degree surrond camera. you thing thats a good deal? thats based on 12k a year. |
that's not shabby at all; just make sure you have the best trip and leather seats since it is an 08;
i got 499/mo on 10k/yr for an 09 AWD Journey with everything

yeah the sales man was saying that the color/spec we were looking at in an 08 was going to be a hard find, however it would be approx $525 over 3yrs with the 12k milage per year. when asked what an 09 same color/spec etc would be he said it would be more as its an 09. well, i didn't think their would be much difference due to the fact its the same car(as far as i know infinity only did a few minor interior/tech updates) so......is he just telling me a load of garbage? can anyone give me some advice also on trying to negotiate a good deal on a lease? never leased a car before, always bought. have no problems getting really good deals on purchases. how much room do you have for negotiations on a lease? do they have a kinda fixed mark on leases and they don't have much room to go down on prices or what? any advice/tips would be very much appreciated!!! |
I am sure the '08 has better lease rates, that would not shock me at all, therefore you will get a better deal on the '08.....you have to keep in mind that regardless of the minor changes made, the dealer (and Infiniti) want to move the '08 off the lots. THE VERY BEST THING YOU CAN DO......get some lease quotes from as many other dealers as possible, be very specific about the model you want and the terms you are looking for. Don't come off as wishy washy, tell the dealer exactly what you want, and tell every dealer the same thing. Good luck shopping!

| Hi: Ya'll do some tough negotiating! I bought my 2010 EX35 last night--silver with stone interior, had all 3 packages--navigation/Bose camera all around view, premium, and tech; plus bumper protection (which seems like a waste), mud guards, cargo area protector and window tinting. List was 44,470 and my price was 38,000 plus sales tax and title fees of $185. |
