Post Title: My pathfinder.
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 6:16 PM 6/23/2009

Ive been lurking here for a while, just recently have i started being more active. but heres the pics.

After a nice detail job i did tonight.

Blue Dashlight Mod.

and the Audio System

and id just like to see, can people measure, that have stock suspensions that they either replaced or that are still in good condition , measure how much inches from the floor, to the fender flares.

mines only 31 1/4 inches, im replacing it soon. coils, absorbers, and struts.

Thats about it, still on the list is

new suspension with 2 inch lowering coils.
Rims, i reallyed liked sixty4 or whatever his name was he has 22"s except id like mine to stick out, forgot if its negative or positive offest or if you need spacers, but so they stick out on the sides, wider stance.

blacked out headlights

send tails to jonstintedtails.com and also the 2 bumper reflectors, get dark tint on them, but leave the clear strips on the tails.

Paint the side mirrors to match body colour, along with all the handles.

i really want to find chrome trim for around the windows. since black starts to fade out and look like garabage

for audio, 7" dvd touchscreen headunit sometime, along with 2 15" FI BTL subs, and in all replace the whole bose, 4 in door speakers, and put 2 tweeters in the spots there are up front, and add 2 more in the rear.

tint, but i would want it all mirror tint, like the older lexus rx300;s have ,and the older pathfinders 98;s or something.

Paint the stock rims cause the caps are fading. and when i get another set of rims, put winter tires on those.

billet grill top and bottom, id also want to paint the inserts by the foglights to match the billet grill then.

mabye in the future new paint job.

what bulbs do you have that are so blue

lookin mint! i love those roof racks, wish mine were like those

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (Qxxx4)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 6:38 PM 6/23/2009

to fueler. forgot now, dont feel like looking for the box, but they are from this website.

http://www.automotivelightingusa.com/

edit: and to qxxx4 i actually want to take mine off soon, probably when i do the suspension and it settles and its 2" lowering, i will take off the running boards again, and the roof rack , will make you think its lowered more than it really is. since the roof rack adds like 4 inches to the look of it from like behind.

lol edit again:

but question about the dashlight mod, can the needles be changed to a diff colour? since i remember at night i road by this audi, and its dash and controls etc were green like ours, but its instrument panel, had green for like the speed etc. and then white needles. i though that would look pretty sick, and no need to go thru the trouble of changing the temp, etc lights to blue. and have that all stock look if the needles were white and dials green.

also, if i hadnt asked enough questions sorry, but you know the rubber or whatever it is the stripping around the fender flares, anyone know where you can get new ones? or do i have to go to dealership and pay excessive $$. cause mine kinda look like s***.

Ahh, to have a pathy that never saw a Canadian winter.

My front bumper looks like a 14 yr olds face, it's so pockmarked and chiped from all the rocks that have hit it on the highway.

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (Mariach)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 9:19 PM 6/23/2009

the front bumper just looks better in pictures, its actually chipped alot, but it looks better with a good detail job like i did, believe me, they put down a s*** load of salt, gravel and sand in pennsylvania, but especially gravel cause of the hills, and it chips your paint but also, no rust, but you gotta have the balls to wash and wax your car in 20 degree weather, and the water starts icing on your hood so you have to get it in the garage quick, and also washing the underbody alot. pays off.

Looks nice!! but it would look even better with a fresh coat of mud!!

haha it already kills me just with ugh to i bet you offroaders is nothing but even the little chips it has kill me , id want it all to look like it was fresh, no chips, dings, dents, touch up paint. i really want to get a paint job, and get it the same colour, or a purpleish-redish colour changing paint, but that s***s expensive.

nothing wrong with touch up paint if you do it right. There's touch ups all over my Q, but I can't find them... and I did them

Just wondering where you gonna buy the lowering springs from and your pathy looks exactly like mine

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (JonathanPrem)

gonna get them from 4x4parts.com

Bad idea. Those lowering spring will eat out your suspension and give you really bad ride quality .

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (JonathanPrem)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 11:21 AM 6/24/2009

what do you mean eat out? like ruin it quicker? and how do you know? had them or heard from people?

i asked on this board no one seemed to have expireance with them, but i didnt order yet, so id like more info.

On the other hand, i do want to lower but goddamn no one has any i dont think. other than those.

Since we are IFS & use struts up front I'm sure you could bag the R50, but if you do you aren't allow to post up here anymore

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (fukinitupagain)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 11:36 AM 6/24/2009

no i dont want bags lol. LOWERING COILS dont have them anywhere. other than 4x4parts, and when i got my hopes up, im seeing that people are saying they are s***

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (miamiheat3332)
Posted by: fukinitupagain at 12:24 PM 6/24/2009

Anytime you simply lower you vehicle its gonna ride like hell, unless you do some form of race/performance job but nothing like that exists for R50's.

Let me say this, I'm lifted & have bigger tires, the ride is a bit rougher, to say the least, than stock height (especially with the tires I run) & many people (especially here on NICO) wouldn't dream of going with my setup because the ride will be waaay too rough for their delicate little as$es. If you like it & are into it then it won't matter. If you want a supremely comfortable ride on long trips then by all means keep the same suspension setup (maybe upgrade to nicer softer struts & shocks) but if you have a certain look you want (mine is more of an offroad performance issue but its essentially the same concept its just a matter of what you're in to) then to hell with everyone else & what they think, go with the lowering coils & throw some God-awul 20's on it but for the love of everything that is good & holy DO NOT put that little DUB emblem on it.

Try it out for yourself

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (fukinitupagain)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 12:34 PM 6/24/2009

what i want , and no dub is lols, is just to lower it, if i sacrifice ride quality a little, then ok, i just dont want it to ruin the new suspension, as long as its only that then its good, and as long as its even more stable than it is on turns than it is now, that would be an even better plus for me.

clean truck dude! like Qxxx4 mentioned i love those roof racks! tought they were only on the 03-04 models tho
great audio plans too...what amp(s) do you plan to use?

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (Adnan)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 1:16 PM 6/24/2009

most likely hifonics as of now. and the car is a 2002 se bought with 17k miles on it used, it has every option except for leather, navigation, and the side mirrors painted to match body colour like on the LE's, and also it doesnt have the LE rims, thats about it, everything else its loaded like an LE

edit: anyone want to guess how many miles are on it now? im thinking its actually really clean compared to most of them on here since alot of you offroad.

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (miamiheat3332)
Posted by: Adnan at 1:24 PM 6/24/2009

lol you're right its pretty mint!
i would guess you got about 64k miles now

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (Adnan)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 1:35 PM 6/24/2009

wow, then mabye to me it doesnt look clean since like if your an owner of the car, you always immediantly look for where you know the dings and stuff are, but also i still look for that on other peoples cars

but wrong, 104k miles

No theres really only like 4 or 5 of us that talk over here that wheel ours. Theres more over on NPORA but even then theres not that many people that wheel the hell out of R50's, especially compared to like WD21's

miamiheat,

Did your Pathfinder come with the roof rack fairing (the one that has NISSAN on the front) or did you remove it? If you removed it, how did you remove it from the rack? Also, do you get a lot of wind noise without the fairing? Thanks!

Also, how did you do the instrument cluster light mod? That looks really cool! Is there somewhere I can find instructions on how to complete it?

Post Title: Re: (Pwnin O'Brien)
Posted by: miamiheat3332 at 4:45 PM 6/24/2009

i removed it, in the front, i think i took off those 2 plastic covers if i remember right , but pop them off carefully or you might end up having to superglue clips back on, and then you should see which screws to take off to remove it, and no there is really no noise, obviously at freeway speeds you are going to get some but thats normal for any sunroof.

and the instrument panel mod, you need to buy 2 bulbs, and search for a thread, the starter should be slickroger. thats where i got it from.

Post Title: Re: (Pwnin O'Brien)
Posted by: NickD85 at 4:48 PM 6/24/2009

yeah man, very clean paint for that milleage... one of the things I never liked about the pathfinders was the running boards- I like the way the Q has them shaped and faired to the body: like more of a continuation of the rest of the car...

That's just me. Looks good though

and you mentioned going with a mirror tint? I'm not sure that you can do that under the factory tint... I'd just try to match the front windows to the factory back. I like that look a lot more than the mirror tints- but to each his own. Oh and sweet color

Likewise. Counted 14 chips on the bumper, 27 on the hood, and another 11 on the roofline.

to nick, couldnt you just get the factory tint removed and go with the mirror then?

and also your ride looks pretty clean for being in new york. i used to live on long island, and most of the family lives their, and there rides deteriorate pretty quick, but thats put also with them not really giving a s***. whole family pretty much drives hondas, nissans, infinitis, acuras.

its factory colored glass - the "tint" is not removeable.

the only way to do that would be to change out all the windows.

Post Title: Re: My pathfinder. (miamiheat3332)
Posted by: NickD85 at 5:49 PM 6/24/2009

yeah miami, that color is literally inside the glass, not on top of it so it cant really be removed. And yeah the northern winters are rough on everything, but I've touched up dozens of scratches, and repainted the rear bumper and fenders entirely- If you do it right those repairs are invisible to even the most critical eye. I definitely wouldn't repaint the whole car because of a few scratches ( I really wanted to have my q painted black for a while, until I asked around...$$$)

i heard its around 2500 for a factory quality paint job not sure from where, and like the frame, under the, hood, the door jambs etc. are inlcuded

edit: oh and the glass, s*** that sucks, i wonder how the mirrored tint the older pathys have would look on it, if it would look like s***, then id just go with black

true about just painting parts themselfs, like hood , rear bumper and front, but then again when i detail it, and like i look at the car from the side, theres like little dents that go in a little you could see. which pisses me off.

miamiheat,

With your help I was able to find the instrument cluster mod and I also removed my roof rack fairing successfully, Just one question, do you know of any good super glue? hahaha

Those clips you warned me about snapped right off, the front clip on both sides just broke off with ease.

I have another question, did you remove the clear tape under the fairing? How were you able to remove it? Thanks for your help!

Edit: and superglue, i dont know i use cheap a** dollar store ones, its all the same, or harbor frieight has good deals on superglue lol.

Umm, IIRC if you were to get a paint job to the same standards as the factory, it'd run you somewhere around $7K - 10K. I'm pretty sure you're looking at around 7 or 8 coats of paint and 5 or 6 coats of clear coat. I dunno, I could be way off, but that's what I remember.

Whoa man, WHOA! Your rig might fall apart if you do that, the mud and grime is what's holding it together!

I'm waitin to get some warranty replacement headlamps from Jegs. I got some of the Anzo blacked out headlights about a year ago but they had hardcore condensation in the corner blinkers. Once I get the replacement set back, I will surely put up some pics.

Well I got my headlights in so i took a couple of pics with my phone. I have to return the new headlight set tho because the driver side trim mount is off (note the hanging trim under headlight) . Anyhow, I'll post some new/better pictures up once I get the new set in and once I finish de-badging the rear hatch.

I love the look without the roof rack fairing, much cleaner and more sleek. I have noticed some wind noise above 40mph but it's not much more than the noise caused by the Yakima basket so it doesn't really bother me.

ive got some foglight projectors from the Lincoln MKX/MKT, h11 bulb size. I might try to figure out a way to fit them to my fog lights......

I would love to see pictures if you guys are able to fit the projectors! I have been looking tirelessly for a projector setup for my pathfinder but have had no luck. Lot of sites list the Frontier projector headlamps to be compatible, when they aren't even close.

If anybody has projectors on their pathfinder (up to '04 cuz i know they have projectors for '05+) I would LOVE to see pictures. I really want to get HID's but they would never pass inspection with my current headlamps and I get enough people flashing me for my PIAA bulbs.
