Post Title: Cannot Open Hood, LOL Posted by:Joe Mama at 12:49 PM 6/15/2009 No, but seriously... I have a 1993 Q45 Infiniti. I got it Used about 6 months ago. Great engine. The car does actually run, I have taken it for a drive. But, now either the car sat in the driveway too long and lost its charge and i need a jump start (I didn't have a license for along time and didn't want to drive without one:pface ) or the battery is just dead. Well, the mechanism to open the hood of my car is located on the driver-side door under the arm rest. The problem is, the switch is electric. And my car battery is dead. It will not pop open when I pull the switch. So, unless this is a fatal design flaw:confused....please tell me how I am supposed to open my hood when the battery dies. Please help is you can, I really like this car and I want to start driving asap. I'm only 18, but I'm sure you can understand how important your first car is to a young man.
I thank you in advance for your time.

The button you referred to in your above post is to open the TRUNK!!!! Hood release is in front of your left knee as you sit in drivers seat, and is manual{non-electric} gotta look just under that portion of the dash!!!!

That would explain it! I feel better knowing there was a reason...
