I didn't know there were more options for exhaust. I know InfinitiMe was looking for the same thing. I'll have to find some pics before voting. Good thread. You guys have taught me a bunch about the M

With the combined wit of this forum (at least those who participated), I have decided to go with shiny/chrome quad tailpipes. Thanks to all who participated (12). And those who viewed (2,000,000,000,000,000,000,012).
Sorry 07 I didn't vote, but in my defense I didn't see an Staggered Quad Tip Chrome as an option
Just messin with yah, seriously thow that is what I'd go with. But if I didn't have the staggered quad, I would definitely go with a quad 2.5" but I'd be carefule in how they were mounted so they didn't stick out from under the bumper too much.

Those are pretty perfect! When are going to help me duplicate your exhaust for my car? haha
Actually it was pretty easy...
QTY - 6 45deg mandrel bends
QTY - 2 Stanless Steel Mash Flex Pipes
QTY - 1 X pipe
QTY - 1 Magnaflo Muffler pn#11386
QTY - 1 stick of 2.5" tubing (stick = 10ft)
Take it to an exhaust shop and show them my pics. One thing I am not satisfied with is the muffler hangs too low in my system, I did this for clearance but after looking at it again I could have tucked it up in there better but there is alot of room under there so any competant shop could do the work.
Plan on spending $400 - $600 with labor. I could have saved money and went with crush bent pipes - or bought 180deg bends and cut them up - but I'm lazy.
With my wholesale account all parts totaled to $277

Good to know, thanks. I would tackle it myself but my welder acts up like yours. Some days it lays perfect welds with no effort then some days it acts up. Do you have a sound click anywhere of your car?
Not yet, when the leaks are fixed I'll post a clip. I only have 3 leaks and one of them is the copper oring gasket at the header - too many times on and off and they start leakin.
The other 2 are pinholes - but have to be fixed for the exhaust to sound complete.
I can tell you it sounds weird - like a G35 coupe stock mixed with a 4.6 mustang.
It's perfectly quiet cruising and light throttle, but open it up and it get's loud. It's still a work in progress, when I'm done I'll try and get Magnaflo to R&D it and sell it as a complete kit - or sell them as one off's to members if there's any interest but that is down the road quite some time.

Not really preferred - I sourced those pics from EBAY - they seem like a reputable seller but I don't have any direct contact with them to be able to back them. I'll post the links

I just installed the Megan exhaust (axle back) on my M. I love the growl - but now I have to put double sided tape on my license plate frame to keep it from vibrating.......

sorry but they are not tips its the entire JP muffler ...
Sorry - I know it is the muffler. Just saying I like the tips.
I find it really difficult to listen to clips online, because even with a Klipsch subwoofer, you just don't get the same sound out of a clip on youtube.
I wanted a nicer look and sound - but wanted to retain the quad tips. I have an 06 M45 and went with the Megan axle back. To compare the 2, the changes in sound were subtle; the MEgan exhaust note is much deeper and throatier than the OEM mufflers. I can't tell at higher RPMs that I changed it out really (might be the crappy roads in WA state, but I like the tone when idling and low end revs.
