For an idea of usage, I go driving/drifting 4 out of 7 mornings aweek and attend about 3 SCCA events a month. And my kid is 8 ( He wears a helmet for those more responsible people who might think this is out of line.) We wouldn't practice on the road if we had money for the track, in case anyone is wanting to take the conversation that way.

and until you do tandem competitions all you need is a 4pt rollbar. having a full cage on the street is more dangerous than it is helpful.

| stop street drifting. youll have even less money after your car gets impounded. and until you do tandem competitions all you need is a 4pt rollbar. having a full cage on the street is more dangerous than it is helpful. |
I know about the street, that's why I go way out in the county a 4am, no traffic... ever. It's a pretty small community. I just can't afford the track time.
Now we use the car for SCCA events mainly. We don't go out and race through town or anything that stupid. But I'm constantly trying to improve on the car and of course I want to "test" what i've done, before I screw up at an event because a new part or system hadn't been ran hard to see if it is worthy. I'm not trying to argue by any means, the track time is just out of our budget especially through a car build. Now in the end, we might have some more dispossable cash.
Oh and thanks about the roll bar advice, I wont be doing tandem anytime soon... so a nice liitle 4 pointer should please everyone! And it'll be lighter on the pocket, probably easier to find someone to install it also.

Can U get me a pic of "the hoop diagonal brace" that would be required for competition. I'm still considering just going all the way... It wont be in front of my dash though? I have my gauges in odd places.
