I have stock HID bulbs in my 2001 QX4 right now. I want to either match my fog lights with my white headlights or get new bulbs for everything going a little bit bluer. I know where to buy and I think I know how to install. The question is, how do I find out exactly what temperature my HID headlights are right now.

I see that lots of members here use HIDs that go up to 30,000k. I read that all HIDs are illegal unless installed stock with the car.

With all that being said, how do I tell the exact temperature and what do you guys suggest I do on keeping white HIDs or going blue?

Thank you guys, I hope I can get an answer to my questions.

If you read around, you will find bulbs with color temperatures over 5600° K actually have less lumens.

Also, if you reflectors or peojectors are not designed for HID, the result will be an unfocussed beam and galre to oncoming drivers. Think twice.
