Well guys...

It finally happened...

I injured my 240.

Weather conditions suddenly turned to **** on the way up, terribly slippery as huge wet snowflakes perpetually bombarded the ash fault. All causing me to be stuck on the highway, followed by the freeway in Edmonton. I couldn't turn back, so I continuned my trek to my Uncle's, hoping to make it in one piece.

All I could do was crawl and inevitably I wiped out as I didn't have my winter tires on my ride at the time. Upon wiping out I attempted to correct, while also attempting to reduce the fated impact as much as possible.

And lo, there are pics: The pics aren't the best, obviously, but you get the gist of what's borked on my car now. As you can see, none of my lights even popped/cracked.

Now, I've turned this thread into a poll 'cause since my bumper will more than likely need to be replaced, what should I do? Shall I stay Chuki? Or should I go Kouki? I already have the tails after all, and plan on getting the side skirts at least in the future.

Lemme know your thoughts, guys! Other suggestions for the poll are also welcome!

Thanks man, I'm going to be filling my insurance claim tomorrow, as I do not have the cash to even think about buying replacement parts -yet-. But I hope you'll hook me up once I can get the ball rolling!

As for the guy who added the new poll option, I lol'd. I actually have winter tires, but I had a retard moment and DIDN'T PUT THEM ON.

I somehow doubt this is enough damage to total it out. But any suggestions on how to prevent such an event besides just paying for it myself? Wouldn't be the first time...

It looks sad

Good luck with that - doesn't look too terribly major, no frame bentage or anything.

Because we all know that sucks. Majorly.

you'd be supprised...

my friend "totalled his MR2 a few months ago. it was not his fault. a female in a van decided to do a u-turn in the same lane. the damage was going to be about $2000. the insurance co sent him a check for $5500 and let him keep the car.

just try to make sure you do everything you can to make them not total it..

good luck.

Wow... now I'm worried.

Guess I'd best try to get all the parts myself first and see what happens. Only thing I'm worried about is getting a new pop-up headlihgt casing/frame/etc.

Man, that really sucks. I feel your pain though, I just finished replacing the rear bumper, hatch, metal garnish, fender and still looking for a passenger door for mine.

If I were in your situation I would stay Chuki, It'll be a LOT cheaper and looks great.

Really? That'd be a freaking lifesaver! I don't even wanna know how much a headlight assembly goes for new.

I sent you an e-mail, but was retarded apparently and didn't read your post in it's entirety before sending it.

E-mail me back and let me know if I can grab the left headlight assembly from ya. That'd -really- help me out! Thanks a ton!

I really appreciate all the kind offers as well as the lulzy additions to the poll, which seems to have degenerated, but has definitely raised my spirits!

I;ll see if I can find a hello kitty band-aid, too. If anything I may have to improvise with at least a sanrio-related character, lol.

I'm hoping that since 240's seem to be worth more in Canada than the US, that I'll be safe from a totalled declaration...

Partly why I'm taking it to my mechanic buddy before I even talk to insurance...

This seems as relevant a place as any...

I've noticed there's really quite a demand for us Canuck's daytime running lights.

Are they really worth their weight in gold, or what?
