If you are looking for a great quality, affordable alarm system, then this is the one for you. The Viper 350HV is their standard alarm/keyless entry system with all the major security features that are included in their more expensive models. It comes with 2 standard 1-way remotes and will cover all entry points, includes starter kill, dual stage shock sensor, 6-tone siren, 2 aux outputs etc. Email if you have an interest for a 2-way system or any other alarm model or remote starter.

I am really interested in this. as I was looking to buy this same model at bestbuy today..

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...77516

their price is $230..but that's with installation. but I couldn't imagine install is that hard?

Are you able to point me to a good installer or atleast a install guide if I buy this from you? because..$129 shipped sounds better then $230 installed+tax blah blah blah..

Btw, thanks again for the CD deck. Sorry i never got back to you about the Concept HUD.. but i kinda went all out on a turbo setup

I wouldn't know a good installer out in Cali, but any good reputable shop would be good. It is pretty straight forward and does come with a complete installation manual. The only extra part you would need is a relay for the door locks. I would throw that in of course. You could also feel free to call me or email me for tech support!

Just let me know!

Also, on a side note..... that $230 is with basic install. Bestbuy will bag you on the door locks. Since they have to wire up one extra relay, it will probably be an extra $50.

will send you a payment soon from Accord6g.h0y0ung@gmail.com via paypal.

I really appreciate it.

when you say relay..I'll assume i would need acutuators as well, right? [i bought a new set couple of month ago cuz it was $5 each..haha]

btw, it's for 1995 OBDI Nissan 240sx Base auto. I don't know if all that little model and OBD I/II matters.

Are you adding OEM actuators or after market actuators? If you are adding after market then you will need 2 relays. Like I said, I will throw those in with the purchase.

Thanks,

Toby

my car doesn't have power lock
but the previous owner attempted to put an unknown keyless entry in the car. so i do have unused door actuators..but those been sitting there for god knows how long. i am going to be adding the after market one with gree/blue wires.

thanks, you'll have your payment of $129 via paypal very soon.

Sweet man! You have no idea how much the "props" thing in your sig helps. It's just one more way to get the word out....... because most members, especially non 240 owners, even know that I exist.

You can call as late as you want, but after 10:00pm Central you might have to leave a message. Halo 3 starts at 10pm!

The shock sensor is built into the main unit. It is a little black protruding dial on the side.

O.k, I would recommend headrests from Vizualogic. I have found them to be the best quality and screen resolution. Comes with two RF headphones and the main module has multiple inputs for auxiliary sources. A dual DVD setup retails for $2799, your Nico price is $1799 shipped. The single DVD setup retails for $2499, and the Nico price is $1649 shipped.

Everything would work the same as it does on a car with power locks...... yours just wouldn't lock your doors. You can put locks in for pretty cheap though.

Post Title:
Posted by: Clawhammer at 2:45 PM 2/23/2008

I took it to a local circuit city to have it installed, they just called me to tell me I need actuators for the door locks?? They said they don't have them in stock so the keyless isn't going to work when they're done. What's the deal with that?

Post Title: Re: (Clawhammer)
Posted by: Broadfield at 4:02 PM 2/23/2008

They are retarded! That's what sucks about most Circuit City's and Best Buys...... non-experienced installers. They are 3 possible locking systems in early 240's, and I've seen one type ever.... which is a single wire setup. Can you lock your drivers door by pushing the lock plunger on the passenger side? If so, then you do not need an actuator. You will just need the relay setup that I gave you. If you can't, then you will need one in the drivers door, assuming there is nothing wrong with your factory actuators. Give me a call at the number in my signature and we can figure out what type of lock system you have. You most definitely will not need 2 actuators though.

Post Title:
Posted by: Clawhammer at 4:29 PM 2/23/2008

Yeah I have the setup where whatever you do to the driver's side it does on the passenger. Locking the passenger side does not lock the driver's side.

I told them to just leave the keyless alone and when I get the thing back I'll just do it myself. Pretty sure they can't mess up the alarm part.

Post Title: Re: (Clawhammer)
Posted by: Broadfield at 4:36 PM 2/23/2008

Can you lock OR unlock the drivers side from the passenger plunger? If not then you need one actuator in the drivers door. I have never seen this type on a 240, but I know they exist. Mine for example can unlock either door from either plunger. This is the only type I have ever seen on a 240.

If you need a actuator, I can ship it out Monday.... free of charge!

Post Title:
Posted by: Clawhammer at 9:29 PM 2/23/2008

If the doors are unlocked, and I lock the passenger, it does not lock the drivers side.

If the doors are locked and I unlock the passenger side, it unlocks both.

Doing anything on the driver's side replicates it on the other side.

Hey Toby,

are separate relays also required with the 5900 or are they intengrated within the alarm ???

Post Title: Re: (amolao)
Posted by: Broadfield at 10:21 AM 4/30/2008

The 5900 has the standard + or - selection for door locks. So technically it does have built in relays. However, they are not programmable for different wiring configurations. So if you were adding actuators or if it is a 240 with the "one wire" door locks, then you would need additional relays. I include all of those little extra parts at no cost though. If you have the locks like Clawhammer described above then you need nothing extra.

Thanks,

Toby

I have a base model 1993 with 0 power options, my door locks on either side only work when they are manually actuated. And I'm looking into a basic alarm system that if possible has key-less entry.. and what parts (relays, actuators, etc) I would need?

The 791XV is a discontinued model. It was replaced with the 5900, which has better range. The 5900 would run you $279 shipped. I can throw in 2 DEI door actuators and the relay pack for $20 extra. So $299 shipped for everything

Ok, so having my neighboor's car stolen is telling me it's time for an alarm. But I have some questions, what are the big differences between the 350HV and the 1002(if you have it in stock). I was looking at the website and it said the 1002 has comfort closure, what's that?
Also I'm looking to put a sub box in my accord, nothing too much, 300 watts or so, what do you have along those lines?

Thanks Toby.

Post Title: Re: (Pyrokid)
Posted by: Broadfield at 10:47 PM 5/3/2008

The 1002 and the 350HV are exact as far as the alarm features go. The main differences are: the 1002 remotes have better range and it has built in relays for door locks. I include the relay pack with the 350HV if you need relays. Comfort closure is standard on both systems. However, it requires a window roll-up module to function. It would simply roll your windows up automatically when you arm the system.

Are you just looking to purchase the subs? I would probably recommend building your own box or buying one locally, because shipping would be fairly expensive. Do you also need an amplifier to push the subs? How much bass are you hoping to get and what type of budget are you looking at? Just let me know and I will come up with a nice little quote!

Thanks,

Toby

Post Title: Re: (Broadfield)
Posted by: Pyrokid at 3:41 PM 5/4/2008

How much is the 1002?

Yea I'm looking to get subs and an amp to push them, I was thinking two 10" subs and like 200 - 300 watt amp. I'm trying not to spend more than $350.

Thanks again Toby.

Post Title: Re: (Pyrokid)
Posted by: Broadfield at 5:20 PM 5/4/2008

The 1002 would run you $159 shipped.

A nice little sub woofer package would include a Alpine MRP-M500 mono-block 500 watt RMS amplifier. Then 2 10" JL Audio 10w1v2 sub woofers. I can do all of this for $360 shipped. Pretty good price for some nice equipment and a good amount of power. If you buy an alarm system and the audio stuff I'll throw in the amplifier wiring kit for free!

Thanks,

Toby

Are you sure that digital tilt sensor would work with the 350HV? If so, how much for the Viper 350HV and digital tilt sensor together shipped?

Post Title: Re: (pinoyboy3241)

Yes it will work with any alarm, even other brands. The package would run you $175 shipped. I do not stock the digital tilt sensor though, so it would take me a week to get it in.

Thanks,

Toby

I'll take it all then, if I'm doing my math right that's $519. You sir will have paypal tomorrow.
Nice doing business with you again Toby.

p.s.-
Are the JL Audio subs the 4 ohm or the 8 ohm model?

Toby

Nah they are manual, and I'm talking the only unlock via key from the outside or by hand from the inside.

Quick question about the wiring, I'm pretty sure I should wire up the subs in series, but I figured I'd ask you to make sure, seeing as you know a lot more than I do.

edit - PayPal hates me , and won't let me send more than $500, so I can either send the $519 when I get all the info I need to lift the limits, or I can send you the money in two chunks, which ever you prefer.

You will wire the subs in parallel to achieve a 2-ohm load. You can send two separate payments..... it's fine.

The 791XV is a discontinued model. It was replaced with the 5900, which has better range. The 5900 would run you $279 shipped. I can throw in 2 DEI door actuators and the relay pack for $20 extra. So $299 shipped for everything

Thanks,

(for the turbo timer) I already asked a local install place and they said that it couldn't be done, but the guy didn't seem to understand why I needed this option. Thanks.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)

Well, it can't be done from a setting, but there is a nice little work around for it. All that is needed is a relay and your install shop really should of been able to figure this out...... if not they shouldn't be installing.

Print this out and tell them to do it!

Ok, got a couple of noob questions for ya.

1) No need to add the 30A fuse since it's already there, right?

2) Just to be clear, the turbo timer ignition output wire will be cut on the harness, that I used for the sake of not cutting into any of the cars wires, and rewired to the relay at terminal number 30 and 87a (87 & 87a is the same lead, right?)

3) I will be "tapping" into the IGNITION WIRE FROM KEY and not rewiring it to the relay, right?

4) I will also be "tapping: into IGN. WIRE TO COIL, right?

Thanks for the help.

Is this diagram right?

Modified by n2tg86 at 9:43 PM 10/1/2008

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: Broadfield at 11:55 AM 10/2/2008

1) You will still want a 30 amp fuse on the wire for 87. This wire will have to be a heavy gauge wire...... around 14 gauge or bigger. You will need to run it directly to the battery or to the 12v constant lead at the ignition harness.

2)You are correct kind of, however, 87 and 87a are not the same. Basically, you will cut the IGN wire on your vehicle and run the key side to 87a and the other side to 30. If you extend these they need to be of the 14 gauge or bigger. Also, the IGN. source for your alarm(yellow) will also need to be tapped into the key side of the relay. This is very important as this is why this relay works..... because of where you tap the yellow Viper wire. You may be able to cut the IGN wire on your plug-and-play turbo timer harness for 30 and 87a, but it depends on where the IGN output lead from the turbo timer taps into the plug-and-play harness. If any questions, call me!!!!!

3)You will need a diode between 87a and 86. You can simply make a 4" jumper with the diode in it.

So for example: on pin 87a, I would usually have my 4" jumper wire with diode, IGN wire from key and yellow wire from the alarm all twisted together in one big female spade. So you would have 3 wires twisted together. Likewise, on pin 86, I would twist the other end of the 4" jumper and the IGN output from the turbo timer together. Note: the turbo timer IGN output will only be ran to 86 on the relay. You will no longer have the IGN output of the turbo timer connected to the IGN of the vehicle.

Please call me if you are unsure of this. My # is in my sig. If I don't answer please leave a brief message and I will usually get back to you within minutes.

Good luck!

Toby

argh, I had to go to school, but i did take out the kick panel and have WAY more access to the wires, i will finish it up in the morning.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: maj Andres at 9:16 AM 10/14/2008

Well I got the yellow wire coming from the brain's harness (it was spliced into another yellow wire that was probably going to where it is supposed to be hooked up. So there is still a yellow wire tapped into the ignition but that shouldn't matter) So there I was, everything hooked up and the key in my hand. I was sitting in the kick panel, (car in 1st gear) and turn it to the ON position just to see if it powers on. The car STARTED! (I don't have a clutch interlock relay, it used to be an auto) so I quickly shut it off and scratch my head I tried it again with me in the drivers seat and clutch disengaged and turn it to ON and it the motor cranked but wouldn't start until I turned the key to start. It started but for the first time it started "weakly". Unlike before where it would start all the way to 2k RPM's then drop to 1.5k and then idle at 1k after about 1 min and a half. Looked back at my work and I didn't reroute the turbo timer's ignition wire, I simply tapped into the turbo timer's ignition wire. Would that make it start on ON?
Oh, and when I installed the turbo timer with the harness, the timer wouldn't power up. I had to switch the 12V ignition and 12V acc on the harness so the timer would work. When I cut into the harness I went by the switched wires.
Here is the diagram that I went by:
[IMG][/IMG]
Sorry for the long post.

The turbo timer still being in the circuit is the problem, I mean it has to be, right? I'll wait for your input to see if I'm right or wrong.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: Broadfield at 10:12 AM 10/14/2008

Well according to your schematic, the wire that you show cutting(orange hi-lighted) is the starter wire. It is a black/yellow. That would be completely wrong. The ignition is the one you want to cut. Ignition is black/red. However, you said that you cut it on the turbo timer plug-and-play harness...... so you need to make sure the wire you cut on the plug-and-play harness is the one that actually lines up with the black/red wire in the OEM harness. This would make sense that you cut the wrong wire. Also, the ignition output from the turbo timer ONLY goes to pin 86 on the relay.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (Broadfield)
Posted by: maj Andres at 1:54 PM 10/14/2008

Okay, so I fixed everything you said. Now the car turns on appropriately and the turbo timer still works when everything is hooked up to the relay, BUT the alarm does not arm. The yellow wire that I cut coming from the brain's harness is going to pin 87A but it is not arming, even when I put the yellow wire back where it was, I still get no response from the alarm. What do you think?

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: Broadfield at 6:16 PM 10/14/2008

I assume the alarm arms when the turbo timer is not on? Did you make sure your diode is wired in the correct direction?

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (Broadfield)
Posted by: maj Andres at 6:20 PM 10/14/2008

The alarm does not arm at all, even when the car is completely off. The diode's cathode is going towards pin 86.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: Broadfield at 10:33 PM 10/14/2008

Then you accidentally either blew a fuse or messed something else up with the alarm. Make sure it has power on the red wire right at the main white plug on the alarm. Make sure it has ground on the black wire at the main plug. And make sure the antenna is plugged in. It only needs those 3 things to work.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (Broadfield)
Posted by: maj Andres at 10:41 PM 10/14/2008

I will check those fuses I saw coming from the harness and the red wire you speak of. Do you know where I can get a e-copy of the installation manual? It would make troubleshooting much easier. I have search but I can only find the owners manual.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (Broadfield)
Posted by: maj Andres at 11:15 AM 10/18/2008

I had unplugged the antenna and never plugged it in . Now it activates when the timer is on OR off, which is exactly what I wanted. BUT... when the timer is counting down and I activate the alarm, it shuts off the car, which is what I didn't want. I checked the diode while it was still in the circuit with the multimeter in the diode position and it measured 163 going both ways. I unplugged the diode along with the wires that are attached to it and with the black lead on the cathode it gave me 679, reversed the leads and it was open. So the diode is good, right? Why does it shut off the car?

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (n2tg86)
Posted by: Broadfield at 4:16 PM 10/18/2008

Then it sounds like whomever installed your alarm did it incorrectly. Sounds like the starter kill relay is on the ignition wire instead of the starter wire. You should have a single relay somewhere that has a heavy gauge green and a heavy gauge black wire coming out of it. It will also have a small yellow and small orange wire out of it. The two heavy gauge wires should interrupt your OEM black/yellow wire.... which is the starter wire out of your key cylinder. Make sure this is right..... I am guessing they cut the ignition wire instead(black/red).

Let me know what you find.

Toby

Edit: As a test you can also cut the orange wire that comes out of the main harness on the alarm. That wire is ground while armed, which triggers the starter kill relay. If you cut it then the relay won't activate. So after you cut the wire go through the whole process of letting the turbo timer activate and arm the car up. If it stays running when you arm the alarm then you know the relay is probably wired incorrectly.

Post Title: Re: Viper 350HV Car Alarm/Keyless (Broadfield)
Posted by: maj Andres at 6:23 PM 10/18/2008

Your guess was right! the "installers" wired up the starter kill relay on the IGN wire (blk/red). So I cut the starter wire (blk/yel) and wired the GREEN and BLACK to the blk/yel wire coming from the key cylinder. Where do I wire the blk/yel wire going to the starter? Or did I misunderstand and I was actually suppose to tap the blk and grn wires on to the starter wire? Let me guess, I was suppose to tap them into the starter wire. Oh, and the car won't start.

The cut black/red wire you will simply wire back together. You may have to extend the wires if their too short.

Now the black/yellow starter wire you will cut in half. The side that comes from the key cylinder will wire into the heavy gauge green wire from the starter kill relay. The other half of the black/yellow wire(starter side) will wire into the heavy gauge black wire from the starter kill relay.

Done!

Okay, so I did everything above and when I went to put the negative terminal back the alarm went off . It didn't disarm with the remote, only when I take the negative terminal back off. What could be wrong now

Toby, you are the MAN! as it turns out I had just forgot to plug the valet button harness back on. Plugged it in and the alarm worked like a charm in conjunction with the turbo timer. Now... When the alarm arms while the car is still running and the turbo timer is counting down (30 seconds), the alarm went off before the car shut down. Is this a programming issue?

Sounds like it might be the shock sensor going off? You can try turning the shock sensor all the way down to test this theory. If that takes care of it then I will tell you how to bypass the shock sensor only while the car is running.

I think it was the shock sensor, because on the second time it didn't go off and on the third time it gave me 4 fast short beeps. How would you bypass the shock sensor while the car is running?

Yep, that would be it! I am in the middle of washing the 240 right now, but I will post up as soon as I am done.

One thing you can do is use the transmitter to by-pass zone 2(shock sensor) when you arm it. Basically hit the lock button to arm it up. Hitting the button one more time within 5 seconds will bypass the shock sensor. It will chirp a second time to let you know that it did indeed bypass the shock sensor. However, it will be bypassed the whole time the car is armed up.

Or you can probably just turn the shock sensor down a tad bit. It sounds like it's set too high anyway if it's going off while your car is running. It should only go off it the car receives a decent impact to the glass.

Or there is one other thing we can try, but it will involve some wire testing on your part. So let me know if you want to try it. I would suggest trying to turn the shock sensor down a little first.

Toby

I shall adjust the shock sensor then. Thanks Toby for all the help and being patient with me throughout the whole process. I will definetly recommend you to anyone that is looking for alarms or audio equipment

So uhh, when the alarm is armed isn't the starter kill relay suppose to prevent me from starting the car? I sit inside my car an arm the car and then start the car but not before the alarm goes off.

All I can tell you is that there is something wired wrong with your starter kill relay. The yellow off the starter kill relay has to go ignition. So it would wire into the black/red ignition wire. This is the same wire you cut for your turbo timer..... so you will have to make sure you tap it into the key side of your cut. You also need to make sure the orange wire on the starter kill relay is wired to the orange wire on the main harness of the alarm.

Let me know what you find!

Well, it can't be done from a setting, but there is a nice little work around for it. All that is needed is a relay and your install shop really should of been able to figure this out...... if not they shouldn't be installing.

Print this out and tell them to do it!

Why didn't you just tell him how to change the setting?

Toby,

Is there a remote start system that I can install along with my 350HV that will allow me to use my current 350HV remote to start it?

There is, but your range would be limited to the Viper 350HV remote..... which isn't very good. If you are only wanting to start it from less than 100 feet away then you would probably be fine.

NO? But I programmed my 350 to arm while started?

Must have been talking about something different, never mind must have meant something else, just ignore my ignorance on the matter.

Well that being the case, I could get a better remote and learn it to my 350 right?

Would the remote start module come with a useful remote for this?

The system controls the range, so a longer range remote won't even program to the system.

The add-on remote start does not come with remotes at all..... hence why you would use your 350 remotes. If you really want remote start I would recommend getting a whole new system with remote start/alarm. I sell them really cheap, so it might be something to think about. By the time you buy the add-on system and then couple that with the poor range, you would be better off with a new one. A Viper 5601 or Viper 5701 would be nice choices.

Well I guess you could email me the cost for all three items, keeping in mind this is for a 2003 civic, so I will need the ignition bypass module. I can use my valet key for that correct?

My email is jimmy77@comcast.net, thanks.

I will email you later tonight with pricing. The module I use you do not lose a key. So you don't have to worry about that.

I highly reccomend Toby for your electronic needs. The shipping was fast and package was well packed. I purchased the Viper 5002 alarm system from him and he guided me through the process. I actually called him 3 times because this was my first alarm install and had some trouble. Toby was very helpful on every call and his customer service owns. Don't hesitate to purchase from Broadfield.

Thanks again for the alarm!

(If anyone needs a guide on how to install the 5002 alarm system.. I made a spreadsheet with the harness/name/location and wiring for the 1 wire lock systems. If you need it just shoot me an email.)
