Post Title: G35 Engine cover refitting after 5/8 plenum spacer
Posted by: Beancooker at 8:48 PM 8/24/2007

Okay, if anyone tells you that you can’t use the engine cover with a 5/8” spacer, it’s because they haven’t tried hard. It was easier than I thought, and only cost me twenty cents.

First, remove the rubber pieces and washers from the engine cover.

Next take four nickels, and drill a 1/4 hole in them. Use pliers or vise grips to hold the nickels while you drill them.

Put engine cover in place, and use the nickels as washers to keep the bolts from popping through. Tighten down. Check clearance before closing hood.

All is good, cover fits and looks like stock.
