Post Title: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step Posted by:Zee at 6:36 AM 5/30/2007 This post has been edited to accommodate Photobucket's new settings.
1. First off you will come to this screen when you go to http://www.photobucket.com . Click the red “Join Now” button.
2. Enter the information that it asks for. Just choose a username from the list they give you if yours is unavailable. Here is an example of what I entered you will not be able to see the password, but can figure out how to make your own. Just try to make it at least 6 characters and try to use letters and numbers.
3. At the next screen it will ask you for your basic information. Such as First Name, Last Name, Gender, Birth date, etc. Just enter the appropriate information and click “I Accept”.(By the way none of the information I have entered is real if you want to message me about anything you the email in my profile.)
4. You will be taken back to the main page. Now you want to login at the top right of the page and click login.
Then after you login you will be taken to a page that looks like this.
5. Where the 3 “Browse” buttons are I want you to click the first one and another window will open that will look like this.
When you are here I want you to find your photos that are on your computer. (It is easier to have them on your desktop to begin so you don’t have to search for them.) When you have found the photo you are looking for click it once and then click the “Open” button. Then you will go back to the other screen and you photo will be ready for upload. Continue this step until you get all three boxes filled.
You screen will look like this when that is done.
6. If you wish to add a title to your photo you can but it is not needed so I will skip this step. Next I want you to click the “Upload” button. After which you will get a screen that looks like this. This tells you that your photos are in the process of being uploaded
After they are done you will get a screen that looks like this.
If you wish to upload more photos repeat steps 5 and 6.
7. Next I want you to scroll down and you will see small images (also called thumbnails) of the photos you have uploaded. You will also see 3 lines below it. All you have to do is click the line next to the letters “IMG Code”, and it will be copied. This is what your screen will look like.
8. Open another Internet Explorer window and go to the forums. Then start a new topic
9. Ok to post a picture click the button that looks like this . You will get the “IMG” handles to come up in between those simply right click and click “Paste”. You do not need to click this button anymore if you are following this tutorial.
Repeat for any other photos you have. Then click post and you are done.
Congrats you have successfully posted a picture on the NICO forums. If you have any questions feel free not to contact me….lol…jk my email is in my profile.

Zee, Awesome tutorial for the newbs.
I will change the title later, so that it will be easily searchable.
You also just earned a custom title... what do you want it to be? Let me know!

Post Title: Re: (CusCo_S14) Posted by:Zee at 7:43 AM 7/17/2007 In photobucket, above the picture there the word, "Edit". Click that. Then up in the top left the is the word "resize" click that and a list will drop down. Click one of those. Good luck.
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:JchavezJ at 7:45 PM 8/15/2007 Hey i just say Thanks for the Tip and Awesome website
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (JchavezJ) Posted by:cmfireman at 8:50 AM 8/23/2007 I don't know if somethings different, but when I click the tag next to URL:, it automatically inserts the [*img] [*/img] tags so all I have to do is paste into the thread.

Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:MitchG at 9:16 AM 12/7/2007 This was very helpfull. Thanks
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (MitchG) Posted by:GreyZone at 6:39 PM 12/8/2007 what is the best image size to upload? Some are too small, others are too big...whats the best size?
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (GreyZone) Posted by:Zee at 8:40 PM 12/8/2007 There really is no perfect size, it is just what size that the picture looks better with.
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:Jaded TC at 10:28 AM 12/9/2007 I'm having some trouble with banner pics. As you can see it has wasted space around it. What can I do to eliminate this box around a banner? I've tried other pics and get the same thing. If I try and edit the pic there is no unwanted extra space to remove. I have uploaded a few pics in the body of the post without problem...
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Jaded TC) Posted by:Zee at 11:06 AM 12/9/2007 Jaded- Here is your picture. It is fixed.
It is kind of hard to explain. The easiest way is to load the picture into paint, then use the box to kind of "cut" out the image. Then close that picture, open a new paint and paste it in. Then save it, that will eliminate the white space.
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:Jaded TC at 11:22 AM 12/9/2007
Thanks Zee! Much better. I think I know what you are saying. I am using photoshop elements and shutterfly. Same idea would apply to photoshop elements as paint as far as what you're saying, I think. It seems like shutterfly is the problem. It seems to put a frame around it that I couldn't get to go away with their program. Anyway, thanks again and I'll keep working on it. Maybe I'll try Photobucket.

Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Half_Demon785) Posted by:alms24sebring at 3:24 PM 12/24/2007 wat about GIF files?!
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (alms24sebring) Posted by:Zee at 4:17 PM 12/25/2007 You mean like this?
It is the same way as a jpg
(Friend was messing around on my computer and made that. Decent for his first try.)
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:alms24sebring at 5:43 PM 12/25/2007
I tried, it just saved that frame it was on when I clicked save
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (alms24sebring) Posted by:Zee at 10:40 AM 12/26/2007 Are you using photoshop? Because that I have never used so your are better off asking in the mutli-media forum
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (alms24sebring) Posted by:alms24sebring at 3:13 PM 12/26/2007 photobucket
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (alms24sebring) Posted by:Zee at 5:46 AM 12/27/2007 Email the picture that you are talking about so I can see it. This seems like an odd type of glitch. Just email it to me and we will see where to go from there.
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (Zee) Posted by:alms24sebring at 10:36 AM 12/27/2007 well since I cant find the GIF that I wanted, lets just say I find it or any other one that I want. Do I right click, save as?, load in photobucket?
Post Title: Re: Posting Picture with Photobucket-Complete Step-by-Step (alms24sebring) Posted by:Rivalry at 8:38 AM 12/28/2007 Are you talking about an animated .gif file? You will need to load up Image Ready to do that.
Open all of the pictures you are trying to 'combine' together and also open the Animation window. Select a picture and in the Animation window for that picture, hit the arrow in a circle button (or play button, if you will) in the top right and select Copy Frame. Select another picture and in it's Animation window, hit the play button again and hit paste frame. It will give you an option to paste it before or after the current frame.
Continue with this to insert all of the different pictures into one through the Animation window. You can change their order by drag n' drop, add time delays, set number of loops, etc. Get it organized how you want and preview with the play/rewind/fast forward buttons.
After you are all done and want to save it, click File and hit Save Optimized As, and make sure you save it as a .gif file! Then you can follow Zee's instructions to upload that file and share it with our wonderful group.
Hopefully that's what you were asking Good luck!

now you have to actually click the line next to the letters “HTML Code”, and it will be copied, NOT "URL", because it is now no there
