Hey all.

My friend just picked up a nice 95 pathfinder. I am going to get him into Nico and thought everyone should post up their pics.

Thanks

I am pretty new to the forums, but I have had lots of Nissans. My screen name is for my 92 Maxima.

Currently I have a 2001 QX4:

totally stock black with tan leather. Sports package with roof, all four heated seats and limited slip rear. No Navi or TV system. The only "mod" I have is an aftermarket set of 16" wheels with studded snow tires mounted on them.

Prior to that, had a 2000 QX4:

Also stock. Traded it in because it was due up for a t-belt change and I wanted a VQ! haha

Prior to that, had a 95 Pathfinder SE V6 5-speed. Black with grey leather. I sold it prior to getting a digital camera and I don't have a scanner, so no pics available.

Yo, I would love to post pictures of my pathfinder 2001 but it still looks kind of stock for the moment, althought I changed the Tail lights, I got myself some black housing - all clear - alteazza's which make the black pathfinder look INSANE.

I'm really interested in the grill you have on your black path.

I don't wanna be a copy cat or anything but I don't think I'll ever see you in real life so can you tell me where you bought your grill

I'm so down to by the same one as you

Thanks man. I'm actually waiting to get my new tail lights, I bought the same ones as you lol. I don't remember where exactly I bought mine from but just google Street Scenes and you can find it that way.

You're gonna love the black housing tail lights bro, they are 'Range Roverish'
I like in Montreal and everyone around my block noticed them, you will really feel a big different for the *** of the path

Was it easy to install your grill?

you know what, my XE pathy didn't come with step bars (step rails), do you know a spot where I can get a good price on black powder coated step rails for 2001?

I bought a set of Westin nerf bars from an internet company for my son's 2002 Eplorer. They were $199.95 with free shipping. This was my third purchase from the company and would highly recommend them....but don't want to break the site's rules by posting the site. Have a Westin Safari Bar on my 01 Pathfinder. Like the brand.

Not sure, they are located in Garfield Hts., OH
Montreal! Spent a couple weeks there getting some tech. training. Really liked Weinstein & Gavino's ! Spent a lot of time on Cresent. Everywhere we ate it was great!

are you serious!

I work for a company called CSC on a street called Rene Leveque when you go down Crescent, it's right next to the CGI building.

We stayed at the Queen Elizabeth which I believe is on the same street that you work on. Isn't that the main drag? Or is that one street over? Anyway, we saw Donald Sutherland (sp?) walking down the main drag one night.
We also ate at Dundee's a couple of times and Baton Rogue (had great baby back ribs). Spent alot of time in the bars on Cresent as well!! Had a GREAT time!! Could not get over how friendly the people were down town!!! Oh, and the skirts! WOW!!!!
I need to find another class up there so that I can come back.

Hey guys, my name is Jeff, I live in Greenfield, just outside of Milwaukee. I just bought my first foriegn car, a '94 Pathfinder XE. I also have a '93 Z28 6spd, an '84 Hurst/Olds and a '93 Ranger. I also used to sell Nissans for Gordie Boucher Nissan here in Milwaukee, so I'm no stranger to the new Nissans as well! Hopefully I'll get to meet a few of you guys along the way some time!

I'm not that new to NICO, just inactive for awhile. I've had a 240sx for a long time (92 then a 97) . . . I still have the 97, but I picked up a 1999 . . and a HALF. . yeah. . QX4 three days ago.

Here it is:

I think I got lucky with it. . it has some dings and scratches, but other than those few problem areas, the paint is perfect. . mechanics seem perfect, and it's like it went 58k miles with nobody driving it -- the seat has no wear. . nothing seems touched inside of it.
I got my 240sx (97) 3 years old with 63k and it wasn't anywhere near this good..

incidentally. . I like your fleet of vehicles. . very well rounded, including the V8 RWD

I approve.

What are those pipes on the front of your pathy for? I noticed everyone out there had 'em. . it's like a prereq to live in Dare county

I wanna take my QX4 out on the sand . . very very badly. .

Thanks!! My first car was a 1969 Mach 1 351W 3speed....so I have a thang for stangs.
Those are fishing rod holders. You can point your car toward the water and use them like a sand spike to hold your surf rods. Also, when your moving up and down the beach looking for fish, you can put your rods there. Quicker than breaking them down each time you move.
That picture was taken at Fort Fisher just south of Carolina Beach.
The 03 LE 4x4 DID NOT have LSD and it did just fine in the sand!! Sand there was deep and fluffy too! I got is stuck once in high on purpose on an incline just to see if low would pull it out and it did great.
You just need to move on down here. I grew up here, but most of my neighbors are from the north/midwest.

Hehe its great to look at Pathfinders.
Our family used to have a 1990 Pathfinder, but that one got totalled I loved that car.
But after that, we went and bought a 2005 Pathfinder It's pretty fun to drive, even though it's an SUV.

Thanks guys!

My exhaust on the Qx4 was a modified Stillen Cat-back exhaust. I had the stillen cat-back exhaust on for awhile and then i wanted to get creative. I then had my muffler shop custom make pipes to go around the spare tire and there she is. I had a CAI/Hollo cats/and stillen exhaust as mods. I also advanced my timing and had a safc II installed on my truck to tune it. Needless to say, my truck was a lot faster than stock even with the 20's. I was running even with a Murano RWD.

what is safcII?

also, with the advanced timing, what did that do for your fuel economy and power/torque? i dont need numbers, just whether they increased or decreased.

finally, did the exhause do anything for performance?

kingflosser - The wheels were Giovanna Anzio 20's. They fit perfectly on the QX4 because they were made for six lug suvs.

Bullrid - The safc II is a little device that is used to control and modify the air - fuel mapping the ecu controls. It's made by apexi and it'sgreat for the 3.5 engine used by nissan. I have one in my G35 and I35. I bought the safc II because after I modified my exhaust all the way up to the headers, i was running rich and I had to lean out the air-fuel. My mods definitely made my truck run faster. I was running all over v8 trucks all day. I have a video out there showing my 0-60 from inside the truck from a stand still. If i find it, I will post it here.

Oh and you can advanced the timing on 3.5 by going to the nissan dealer and having a mechanic do it for you. You need someone with a Consult II and have them modified the timing to 17+. I actually got great fuel economy after all my mods. I went from 15city to about 20city and greatly improved on highway mpg.

thanks for all that info, one more thing. what is the reason for the advanced timing. it injects the fuel sooner providing better response? better mixture of fuel and air resulting in more fuel efficiency?

Says something about your site being the only R50 lift specialists -- do you sell a kit?

Yeah that's Tyler. (the lifted/offroad pathfinder/R50 community is PRETTY small lol) He is Prado lifts. He makes the biggest kit out there, but it's not quite ready for release just yet. The other kit is the 2" susp. lift that AC sells, but you can modify it a little and get 3.5" like I did.

Any reliability issues with lifting an R50? I like what I see, but I want it to take a serious beating :o

Well the coil lift (mine) places tremendous stress on the cv axles. His lift drops the subframe so the cv's are at a near stock angle. But in all reality, the R50 was not designed or built to be lifted. Hence the reason nobody makes a kit for it, or hardly any after market offroad accessories are available. I've had lots of problems with mine being lifted, I love it, but there are negative side effects.

His lift uses the stock subframe dropped 4.5", some say it wont hold up to abuse, but he has tested it (along with the other users of the test kits) and they have held up fine. I was originally at the top of the list to get one of these lifts, but I'm happy with mine and haven't had a problem tackling an terrain in Virginia, but if you want a real lift, check his out. I know for a fact he has spent months and MONTHS and MONTHS just designing it, then building it so he feels comfortable with it. I would put it on my rig.

yeah ill probably eventually run that 5 inch lift on my r50. I wanna run some 34" LTBs in the future. Right now i just have the AC lift with the front spacer, KYB struts, Pro Comp ES9000 rear shocks, and a lot of other stuff, magnaflow exhaust, tint, etc.... ill take some poser shots tomorrrow. the rear has 12" travel shocks so it flex's out veryy nice in the back.

Thanks Brandon and Alex for chiming in. I don't check over here often enough.

I haven't gotten to play around on the rocks yet much until a few little kicks are worked out. I need to extend by bumpstops just a little further so the tires stop trying to rip my rear bumper off.

And in all honesty, I'm not the first one to do one of these kits. Neither is Keith or any of the kits he made. The things seem fairly popular in Japan, but they are expensive as hell to start let alone ship over here.

The kit has taken a pretty good beating so far. I know not everyone has followed the progress so far, but the spacers I had installed had 4 sides plasma cut and welded together to form a "box". The new design is a piece of rectangular tube with holes instead to eliminate all welds aside from the seam from when the tube was assembled.

This snowstorm I slid into a snowbank and cracked a weld on one of the old blocks....everything else seems fine. Welded it back up and ready to go.

I KNOW THIS IS THE PICTURE THREAD. OTHERS ARE CHATTING HERE, JUST ANSWERING QUESTIONS. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MOVE IT TO A NEW TOPIC!!!

hi all.

my wife and i picked up a 94 pathfinder se 4x4 manual new year's weekend. drove it home (saginaw, mi) from west of chicago. overall, i'm dissapointed with the purchase due to so many little things being wrong with the vehicle:

small fuel leak on the tank (i'm assuming - hard to see with that skid plate)
decent oil leak on the engine somewhere (haven't located the source yet - hard to get under there when all you have is car jacks and stands)
frame is rusted pretty badly
none of the console buttons work
front passenger window switch doesn't work (found that out on a rainy day - it goes down, but not up)
needs an alignment
speedometer, odometer, cruise don't work (probably need new vss)
underside is so rusty, i won't dare turn a nut/bolt down there.

on the other hand, it makes a great winter vehicle. heater works good, it grips pretty well in the nasty winter weather (even though it needs some new tires), and it rides pretty nice.

i paid around $2200 for it when all was said and done. (not including the gas, hotel, food, and time to go get it). i'm probably going to sell it come spring time and try to make some of my money back. i wouldn't mind getting a new pathfinder for next winter - maybe one that doesn't have so many problems or so much rust. i'd probably enjoy it a lot more if it didn't need so much work.

i don't have any pictures right now, but i'll probably get some good ones this weekend.

Been lurking these forums for a while now...

Attaching pics of 01 QX4. Let me know what you think! =)

This baby runs Mobil 1 synthetic since 4 months old...has only 71,000km on it. Proud of it =)

Not a lot of things wrong with the car. Love drifting with it...(awesome car for drifting BTW...) --usually in the snow, not too fond of crashing...

Fav Features:

2WD MODE!!
4WD Mode in the SNOW (I don't know how people live with only 2wd on the eastern seaboard)
Wood Steering Wheel =)
Reliable Engine, Tranny, and really really quiet...
ULTIMATE FAV FEATURE: LIMITED SLIP DIFF!! + ATTESA 4ETS System!

MODS:
Appearance Mods = see pics --yes, they are LED lights on the side. Rules prohibit underbody lights, so I improvised. They are for TURN signals ONLY....got tired of being tboned...
XM Satellite Radio - Installed in -20'c Temperatures....this was painful
Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil
Probably follows the most aggressive service schedule...yes, I am paranoid.
Good Year Fortera TripleTred tires -->The BEST ALL season tires in the world...
FM Transmitter....
etc etc...

Care:
Monthly Hand Waxing - McGuire's NXT + Nufinish
Hand Car Washes Weekly
Rubbery Black Stuff RustProofing for Underbody + Oil spray in doors
Leather care bi-monthly

All pics in link:

Pics include semi-offroading
Drifting -->must download vid before playing...
Still car shots...

this picture isn't that great - my camera was not taking good pictures that day - probably had something to do with the below freezing temperatures all day.

sure is a blast to drive in the snow. my suspension needs some serious rehab; however the underside is so rusty that i'm probably just going to leave it be.

This is my 1st post over here. I saw that Tyler & Alex had already thrown theirs up so I thought what the hell. I am waiting on my 2" lift coils from AC but I am running 31" BFG MT's on stock suspension fro now, custom roof rack, like 7 lights on it, no rear bumper, Magnaflow exhaust etc, etc. Plans for the next 3 or so months include 4" more of lift (giving a total of around 6") from subframe drop, snorkle, custom front & rear tube bumpers & 33x13.5 LTB's. PS sorry about the "haze" in the pics but it's a really, really humid day here in NC.

Actually, the QX56 is based on the Armada if you want to get technical.
I really don't like the Armada and QX56 tho.

I thought the styling of the current Pathfinder would grow on me, but it hasn't... still, at least it's back to being a truck-based SUV again. I'd take one, but they look like they really NEED a lift imo.

Well I just got a deal on a Pathfinder for parts for mine. The neighbor across the street where we moved into 3 weeks ago has the same year Pathfinder ('90). Am getting it for $600, I might try to do $500 for it, but $600 is still a good deal. The only real problem with it mechanically is the top end is fried. But I have no need for a motor. Everything else is intact so there's plenty to pick from. Brand new 31/10.50/15 mud tires, damn nice interior, 5 speed tranny, transfer case etc. I'll have plenty of spare parts if something breaks. I'll use the extra transfer case as a second for duals. Currently I have no power to my front tires since the shop screwed up a bearing job. So I'll be able to replace everything on the front end for renewed power to the front wheels. I might have some spare parts left to sell once I'm done picking it apart. I'll have updates as things go on.

Here's some pictures of my brother and I when he came to visit a couple of weeks ago.

A picture of my niece after she got splattered with a bit of mud when we all went out that day for some off-roading.

And two pictures of us when we got a bit stumped. We hit a semi rotten stump, uprooting it and parking on top of it.

From what I have heard (someone correct me if I am wrong on this...Tyler, Max) that they decided not to because as they put it, not me, that there were not enough people seriously intersted in the lift. Every once in a while Tyler or Max come over here or you can find them regularly on 4x4parts.com discussion board if you want to here it from the horses mouth.

Post Title: New Guy Alert! wooop wooop - 2003 2wd SE Pathfinder
Posted by: themot at 3:01 AM 10/13/2007

Hi Everyone,

I signed up to help out. I have my share of stories for tips/tricks/workarounds for my year model vehicle just like anyone else here does, and I wanted to share those here. Of course the things I will learn here are invaluable; there is nothing better than a collective of owners who take deep interest in their vehicles to get advice from!

Nothing special about my 2003 Pathfinder, other than it is well taken care of. It is the first car that I have owned that I felt as comfortable about it's reliability at 90,000 miles as I did at 900 miles. I picked up the car in Sep. 02' in Miami, FL where I lived at the time. Got a smoking deal on it through an IBM partnership program with Nissan. I purchased through a Nissan plan called the VPP; anyone ever heard of it? I don't think they have it any longer. It was too cool... basically you call a Nissan number, tell them who you work for, give them some way to ID you... in my case it was my IBM badge number... they give you a long string of numbers that you take with you to the dealership. This is where it gets good... especially since the sales people and typically the sales manager have NO CLUE what the VPP is. In a nutshell the VPP program is/was no haggle pricing, you give them the vin number, they input that into a Nissan intranet site and it spits out a price they have to sell you the car for. They also are required to show you the dealer invoice so you know what they paid. Regardless of vehicle, it is usually about a grand below what is on the dealer invoice. At the time, some Infinitis and the Z were ineligible for the program. The sticker on the window said $32k and I walked out with it for $27k and change without a haggle or a peep from anyone. It was simply the best new car buying experience you could ask for.

With that out of the way, I can tell you I have some experience with brake replacement, A real bitter taste in my mouth over having to replace a $528 MAF sensor and some experience with towing equipment mods for an SE ... The LE's are bagged and auto leveling in the back correct?

Anyway, my name is Tom, you can call me themot. The truck is filthy right now, so I will post some pictures in a few days when I get it cleaned up again.

What's up everyone? I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the club. First off, I've spent the past 2 days reading every single post on this site related to the Pathy, and I must say I have finally found my home!

I have a 2000 LE R50 which I got this past summer from my dad. Before that, I was driving a 97 Qx4 which was sold with about 170K on it, still running like money! The only reason I switched is B/C my dad's rig was brand new, aside from the highway mileage, and the maintenance is a bit cheaper.

Anyhow - I haven't modden my rig much at all yet, other than getting all the back country "gear" that I need to survive once I get stuck w/ my OEM rig hehehe. But I do have alot of plans for the near future. I'll be throwing some pics up as soon as I can get to em'

Nice to meet everybody!

How hard was it to get on there? You have it done? I've dropped vehicles before, but never had one I wanted to do the opposite to.

did it myself.about 4 hours to put on.i took the struts off and had a repair garage to compress the springs on.they had a hard time to press the springs down.i did this all with hand tools the only hard bolts were the camber bolts for the struts.i bought the new camber bolts from ac,you need them.i took it to tirekingdom, about 1 hour to do the alignment.

Hey Guys! Brian in Boise here. I have had my '99 QX4 a little over a week. The wife and I being endless thrifty shoppers used our mechanic, the world wide web and Consumer Reports to narrow our "new" vehicle purchase down to a Pathfinder or QX4. We actually had a 2001 Pathfinder identified that we liked but the guy had to go to Eugene, OR over Christmas. The weekend before Christmas, we came across this one and my wife loved it. I was dreading the thought of telling the poor pathfinder owner that we had found another one until he e-mailed me that he had slid off the road with his and crunched the front end. Timing is everything. It is a 1999 with 112k miles, we paid $7,500, the timing belt was done at 106k miles. Our mechanic went over it and aside from a couple of small leaks, the only thing wrong with it was a broken oil pressure switch and worn tires. I've been driving a 1991 Chevy Corsica until now so this is a bit of a step up for me. The funny thing is that the QX4 is 6" shorter than the Corsica so it fits in the garage better!

Anyway, here are some pics of our Craigslist beauty:

Now if I can just do the foglight mod that you have done! That will get me going in the right direction.

Hello all. I'm the proud new owner of an old (91)Pathfinder. I actually didn't even pick her up yet, but I will this afternoon. I've been a Nissan fan ever since my first Z-car back in '96. I bought an '84 Turbo 300ZX. Later I sold it and bought an '86 Z and a few years later an '86 Maxima. All 3 cars had the Nissan 3.0 that I love, as does the Pathfinder. I don't have any pics to post on the Pathfinder as of yet, but will post some soon. It's a white SE with the leather interior and pop-up sunroof (which I think was an add-on). It's a manual, as were all of my Nissans and it has new all-terrain 31"s on it. I live in CO and it's been a long time since I owned a 4x4 and the price was hard to pass up at $1400. Well, that's the basics. I hope to gather useful info from this site and maybe one day meet up with some other Pathfinder owners for a ride.

I've owned an '01 Pathy LE, '02 QX4, '87 Hardbody SE-V6 pickup, '84 Nissan pickup and one of those square Maximas. Love Nissans! Looking to lift my '03 SE now, kinda picking apart the forums for the right info, contemplating. Seems like a good community going here.

You have to upload your photos somewhere on the web so it has an web address. So...like on a webserver. I have my own so i'm not sure how other people do it. Not much help, but maybe?

The first pice shows how you can link a photo so it shows up in a thread, while the second example lets you attach a photo. . I think the first option is better.

The "mypic.jpg" is the name of the file, and the rest is, in this case, the web storage my ISP gave me when I signed up. I use FTP to upload.

I think it's called "crystal blue". . I saw one on autotrader, and set out to buy one. But I found this QX4 in Lisle, IL (Chicago area) and was much much closer, and ended up being a really good deal.

Maybe next time.

The dark red is a reallly good looking color for the R50.

Heres a pic of my 99.5 Pathy. 251,128miles, 4x4, black with tan interior. i bought it new in 99 with 11 miles on it. been all over the country with it. i absolutely love it. now i offroad it as well as daily drive it. never have i touched the motor except for the altinator and exhaust parts due to MA corrosion. I must say though, the pathfinder has the best 4WD i have ever seen. i have gone places (with my stock pathfinder before i put the tires and skid plates on it....2" lift to come soon) that my buddy in his 89 wrangler with a 6" lift and 35's has gone. the 4wd system is amazing and im soon to get manual lockers for the front and an air locker that i saw on an xterra for the rear. then the 2" lift and bump up my 31s to 33s and i should be ALMOST unstoppable. haha! anyone here from MA...preferably palmer area? i love wheelin up coy hill, devils peak, marks mountain, KOA and all the other spots we go. its so much fun too when the jeep jamboree comes to town and i just join in...my town has this famous trail that jeepers come from all over NewEngland to ride and i just join in with a stock pathy and 31's haha. its so much fun to watch thier expressions when i go over the stuff that they have trouble on. i loooovee it!

You've never replaced the timing belt?
I'm not being critical (well sort of am). . but it makes me less worried about having to have it done RIGHT AT 105k.

no i havent...and i should. when i get more money im gonna go through the whole thing because i want it to last a long time. the miles are mainly highway...its been all over...but now i just use it in MA.

i have a question. i see that the QX4's have that "lock" in the 4wd system. What is that? and can i get it for my 99.5 pathfinder? are the transfer cases compatible?

thanks.

Well it's cool that it lasts that long. . I likely won't do it on time, I never do. . haha. .
The lock mode puts the vehicle in normal 4wd, and locks the center differential so it's sending power 50/50 front and rear, like your Pathfinder does when you shift it into 4wd. The other option is "auto" which unlocks the center diff, and only sends power as slip is detected.

We don't have any cool air locking hubs or anything like that

I BET you could switch to all-mode on the Pathfinder. . good question. . Not sure what all that would involve, but it'd be more than I'd wanna do . . besides, your advantage is that you can run manual locking hubs. . not exactly a best practice if you have all-mode, as switching to auto without them locked could hose everything.

yeah, i like the shift lever for the 4wd. and i do want to get manual locks for the front. i absolutely love the 99-04 pathfinders. although i just wish i had the 3.5 in stead of my 3.3...but reguardless...i still love it

Post Title: Re: Post your pathfinder / Qx4 pics! (sidewaysdrifter0)

Werd. . I wouldn't be unhappy with a Pathfinder instead of a QX4. . I was actually searching Autotrader for both, but found this QX4 for far less than any Pathfinder I could find, and it was only 120 miles away. I do like the auto 4wd though. . works well with our patchy ice / snow / dry areas, but I could live without it and would drive my qx4 more if I could save 1-2 mpg.

I dig the 3.5 as well, but the price jumped considerably.

Ok, here it is! Just bought my Pathfinder Sunday. It is a 1998 XE 2wd with a 5spd stick. So far I love it! I've put almost 500 miles on it in 5 days. Yeah, I drive A LOT. It has 31 10.50 15s on it now, and I don't like them, they were cheapo tires but they are almost new, so I'm stuck until I can afford new ones. Anyways, thanks to ya'll for all the great info. I look forward to more!

This is my second Nissan. I had a 1989 240SX a few years back (great car! well balanced and handled awesome, just a tad underpowered), then cycled through a Civic and a Tacoma. Tacoma is still for sale... Lemme know if anyone is interested in a 95 extra cab Taco.

The HIDs are great they really make a difference since now i outshine pretty much everyone lol. I got the bixenon H4s on the top and the H3s for the foglights for $400 installed and everything from this shop down here in miami. If you have the money i would definitely go for it!!

Hi all,
I am a newbie to this forum. Just picked up an '07 Pathfinder SE Friday (kept the dealer there till 11:45 cause I showed up at closing time). Pretty much bare bones, but fits our needs well. It replaces our '04 Sorento, and joins our '06 MINI Cooper S.

Has been mostly good to me but we've had our rough times. Sadly i might be trading it in soon for a new car but for now this is my ride

Hello all. I'm JR. I'm obviously new to this forum. I'm also new to Nissan ownership. I just purchased a new 2008 Pathfinder LE in Frost White with all the goodies in it. NAV, leather and so on. I opted for the 4.0 V6 from the 5.6 V8. Gas is just getting too high. I drag race a Cobra and have a F350 diesel for towing so other than that, I saw no need for the V8.

So far, 200 miles, we absolutely love this vehicle. This is my first Nissan. We're looking forward to many good years of service from it. We have 3 teenagers, so the 3rd row seating was a must. We went from a 2006 Ford Expedition to this vehicle. The mpg seem to be about 4-5 above the Expo. A feature we were in the market for.

I looked at 3 vehicles. The Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and this. No comparison in my mind. Honda, too small. Toyota, rode like a soccer mom minivan. Not necessarily a bad thing, but my wife likes to sit higher up.

Hope there is some good input on reliability for these. From what I've narrowly researched, they seem like a dependable ride.

J.R.

Welcome to NICO Mr. Lewis!!
I think you'll be pleased with the Nissan. My family has owned many, and I've had a rough time moving away from them. I decided to purchase an SUV, and wanted a 4Runner pretty badly, but ended up coming back home.

From my experience, I've always had vehicles that rarely have issues.

Love your other vehicles as well!!
Post up pics of stuff if you've got 'em.

Thanks for the welcome!

I wouldn’t say everywhere, but man there must be a million acres (random number) of national forest and reservations, you get the idea. You need permits for res' access though. These come with hundreds of miles of trails in climates ranging from low desert and cactus to mountains and pine - practically everything you can think of. I have explored basically nothing in comparison to what's here.

I'm a native of PA and know what you mean by everything being farms, etc. some cool places, but not like out here. I've explored basically nothing in AZ compared to what's here. I know some AZ natives that know where to go. Awesome places I hear. Can go from Phoenix desert to lakes and streams deep in the cooler mountains in like 2.5 - 3 hours and never look back.

Next time I get out, I'll take a few more pictures and post.

I've been lurking around for a little over a month. Thought I'd post up some picks of my Pathfinder. Its an 05' LE. I bought it a month ago and it was bone stock. I have put on some American Racing 20" Cartel rims (which I don't care for too much because they make the brakes and rotors look dinky...I should have went with 18's), drilled and slotted rotors, different exhaust tip, painted the calipers, blacked out all the chrome, removed all the emblems, billet grille overlay, tinted windows, Weathertech floor liners, K&N filter, 3M clear bra protection and I think that is about it. I still plan on getting the smoked Halo headlights and blacking out the taillights. I'm getting the roof rack painted and possibly the running boards painted black as well. Here are some pics.
The day I brought it home:

After the mods:

Post Title: Here is mine.
Posted by: chaonis at 12:27 PM 6/25/2008

Got it in 2006, with 90k. The leather still smell fresh to date. All bone stock and costco tires. All dealer services from previous owner. So far 100k, spent a bit less than $700 for timing/pump, dealer service as well, with 3 days G35 loaner car; self oil, ATF, diff fluid, and plug changes; nissan parts and costco sync oil. Nothing else.

Been to hidden hills 4wd tracks, death valley 4wd tracks, dove sprint BLM, winter at Mono Lake, Zion park. Outside temp been to high 120 degrees and low 10 degrees. Towed 2000lb boat once. Never failed me and still run as strong and slow as new.

Wish the truck is two inches longer so that I can sleep in it with legs fully extended and the gate closed.

Hey all,

This is my 1998 QX4 with 210,000km on it. I bought it last summer for only $2500CDN after a woman in a blazer hit my Neon R/T head on, and I was in need of a vehicle. Some friends of the family were selling it and gave us a really good price on it. So far it hasn't had one single major problem. It runs beautifully in summer, and in the harsh winters, doesn't leak a drop. I'm very happy with this vehicle.

My only complaint would be the less than adequate power and horrible fuel mileage of the 3300, other than that, probably one of the most reliable and comfortable vehicles I have ever owned. I toyed with selling it a bunch of times but I just can't seem to part with it.

Whoa! Welcome to nico!
What's the story here?

The lady I bought it from is rich and spoils her kids, for whatever reason she let her son spraypaint the car in school colors (yellow/blue) for graduation. Sometime later he took gasoline to the body to get off the spraypaint and destroyed everything. Needs engine work and new paint obviously, but I only paid $550 for an 01 QX4 with 150k miles.

Hi I'm Jeff, I have been cruising NICO for a while. I decided to join about a month ago. I currently own an '05 Pathfinder, '95 240sx and my wife owns an '02 Altima. I just wanted to share some PICs I took the other day after I got them all clean.

My '05 Pathy 4x4, Gibson stainless exhaust, K&N FIPK2, Airaide TB spacer and AirLift rear suspension.

Hi All

I am new to the forums and I must say just browsing, I found so many useful topics!!! I am from Toronto Canada and I own a 2000 Pathfinder, I hope to come out to some meets up here, as I was reading that there is a team that arranges it from Nico.

Anyhow, nice to be here and look out for some upcoming questions!

wuts up guys. im pretty new here. i bought my pathfinder last october after i wreck my 4runner. and i love it. its so powerful for a v6. it is 2001 with 5 spd. i love to go offroading but dont have th e money and time to put lift kit on it. but definitely doing that soon. i recently had a misfire problem but i fixed it. i am pretty good with doing my own work on my cars. dont like taking it to the dealer since they dont know sh*t. thats what it seems like. " oh fix this fix that oh its only a couple thousand" lol yeah do it yourself. though i find the vq35de a pretty complicating engine.
so here are some pics

Ya I'd say it is, its saved the front end a few times from small collisions. If you scratch it you can just spray paint it too, so it's low maintenance.

I'm new here but have owned my Pathy since 2001. Here are the specs:

1995 Pathfinder XE 4x4
5 speed 3.0L V6

modifications:

3" suspension lift
31x10.50xR15 all terrain tires
brush guard
halogen lamps

I love this thing, it has been nothing but reliable. The only two issues that I've had with it are rust and the exhaust manifold. But I think those are both common problems on the older Nissan's.

I'll post pictures later when I'm on my home computer.

New to NICO and loving it!

u mean those crome ones?? i dont like the crome 17's man those are too flashy. those should have been on the qx4. my favorite are the ones off the 03 04 se trim models. they look sexy and good size to make the wheel look beefy

Well, the Platinum edition have the polished aluminum that look kinda crome, but they also make that wheel in aluminum which isn't so gangster looking for the le.

Post Title: Re:Chuck Tribolet's Nissan
Posted by: Chuck Tribolet at 7:14 PM 11/26/2008

I've never bought anything but a Nissan:

'72 240X, bought new, sold about 1987 with 110K miles for within $100 of what
I paid for it new. It's still on the road (or was a couple of years ago).

'70 Pickup, bought used about 1979, with a purported 80K miles, I think it was
really 180K miles. Sold in 1988. New owner never registered it, got letters
from the owner of the property where it was abandoned. I siced the new
owner's mother (a coworker) on him ;-)

'87 Pathfinder, bought new, 12/31/86 about 10 pm. The salesman wanted the
quota, I wanted to take the sales tax off on my income tax (kids, '87 sales tax
wasn't deductible), I won. Put 130K miles on it and traded it on:

'95 Pathfinder, bought new. Put 130K miles on it and traded it on:\

'01 Pathfinder, bought new. 154K miles at present.

About half the miles on the last two PFs have been towing my boat, That's
their job. http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/trailering/images/bunkTrailerLoad550x418.jpeg]http://continuouswave.com/whal....jpeg

Full disclosure: there is an '87 Corvette in my garage. I didn't buy it, I
inherited it. Ditto for the '68 Firebird 400 Convertible (last seen in New
Zealand ca. 1997) The 'vette makes one heck of a backup car. ;-)

My ride is a 96 Pathfinder SE. I try to have the best of both worlds. I like to go offroading yet I like a ride to look good. It gets hard to have it both ways, but I use my head when on the trails. I reside in Oregon and live near many places to wheel. Well, time to poke around the forums and see what I can find. Oh, almost forgot. Here's a few pics.

Some etching I did on the back glass.

Had to show one with it clean.

They are Firestone Destination M/T's. I did quite a bit of research to find the best all around mud terrain. These scored the highest out of all of the M/T's I looked at. I have about 10k miles on them and show hardlt any wear. The cost blew my mind at about 135 bux each with an available road hazard and replacement plan. I sound like a commercial, I know. I would recommend them to anyone. The only downside is that so far, they are only available up to a 33" tall tire.

I had to get rid of my QX4, but those are the EXACT tires I nailed down as well. I love them. A friend / coworker has them on his Silverado, and they are pretty awesome. I couldn't find anything better for the money, either.

Just bought a 2001 QX4 today. Don't have it yet, I just put down a deposit, paying the rest after the inspection, and the driver side seat track sticks on one side. Motor still works, but the side closest to the door won't move, it just tries to spin.

Other than that it's a gem, 1 owner, cleanest carfax I've ever seen, 120,000km (75,000miles)

So unless there's something wrong, or they can't fix the seat for some reason, I'll have it tomorrow! I'll post some pics in a bit. Now just to replace those fugly stock wheels, I was thinking maybe some other larger stock wheels from another nissan/infinity, but I haven't looked into any fitment or anything yet. I've only ever owned mitsubishis until now.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum although I have been looking at it for a couple weeks. Found it on google after I bought my car. I've got a 99 QX4 and I gotta say I love it. I'm in Connecticut so it's great to have in the winter. I like all the mods you guys have been doing, I put LED's in the dash, which was far easier then what I thought it would be. I just finished putting HID's in the foglights (they turned out to be a little green with the projector lens being yellow) and will hopefully do the headlights soon. Don't have any pictures yet but I'll be sure to get some soon.

Hey everyone,

I'm from Vancouver Canada. I just bought a 2001 Pathfinder SE yesterday. 151,000 kms. The interesting thing is it says 3.5 SE on the back but the truck has heated leather seats, power everything...pretty much the same as the LE except it has the SE tube steps and the SE wheels. Was the leather added in as a dealer option?

No mods yet but planning on putting in a K&N filter and maybe HID's soon. If anyone knows where I can get a good deal on HID's, please let me know.

I have some other small questions which I will post up in separate threads. great forums here though.

Hopefully when I get some money(college student) I can ask you guys for some suggestions. I've always been a nissan fan and I'm glad to finally own one, its been a great vehicle.

Hello to all.

Nice dude...pretty clean for a '99. Something tells me those running boards aren't stock, though...lol. Welcome to the forum.

KLL: how much did you pay for the pathfinder in Turkey and how long have you owned it for?

I didn't see too many pathfinder's when I was in Istanbul last summer.

Thank you very much. Its good to be here with new friends.

My ride is 99(Similar to Canadian models, so many French warning labels, gauges are showing in Miles) but it is painted with original color two years ago. It has big scrathes on its body. Also front bumper has been replaced due to little accidents in past. Fog lights are from another car.

Tires are 265/70/15 AT type. Rest is completely stock. Side steps were stock for these models.
Car has LPG double fuel system and let me save money around %40 percent. Performance is little degraded on climbing but it is ok.

naladude911:
Nissan sold r50 starting form 1996 to 2001 in Turkey. on 2000 they replaced engine with vg35 as they did in US Canada and Europe. Exclusive distributor here really sucks. They were unable to marketing these to public well and they sold little quantities. Especially r50 with vg35 is really rare here. Sold models are al SE with leather interrior with double din main units. No LE XE or 2d models. All models were with a tire carrier but mine is missing due to another small accident happened when previous owner was parking it.

Holidazed:
I bought this car in 2005. I paid almost 19000 USD. It has 89000 miles on odometer. Now it is 140k miles. Now you can buy a 96-99 pathfinder for 12000 USD to 14000 Usd. 2000 is little more but 2001 is much more expensive. may be 5000 USD.

Actually there are not so much in Istanbul, biggest city here, all rich guys sold them to us :P We have 20 or so in Ankara, the capital city, which has 5000k people. I am one of the lucky ones

PS:you have a nice car with a very nice color.
Also you were asking about HIDs. I installed a 9004 4300kelvin kit to my 99. Those bulbs has halogen addition for high beams but no luck. They are out of focus and only good as a night baby light. Car has ancient type headlights but i got very efficient illumination. But i lost head lights. So installed additional high beams inside bumper. using inverse relays i triggered low beams with parking ligts , and made them stay on when it shifts to high beams. This is totally illegal but who cares. Cops do not instrested in such situaitons. But inspectors are dealing with those so i did not cut or damaged original setup, i can instantly return to halogen bulbs.

1997 pathy SE got her back in October and just recently got some new AR rims and 31 inch BFG A/T and thought I'd share.

All's stock except for the rims/tires hopefully planning on getting a lift from A/C still kind of debating whether its worth it or not. I also got a brush guard coming from ebay and some yellow fog lights that i can't wait to install

ARB makes a bumper that'll fit yours (even though its for a 99.5+ R50), there will just be a small gap that no one will notice.

What lockers do you have (has to be ARB cause no one else makes a rear air locker for R50's)?

4X4 Customs bought it from ARB and installed it with limited slip diffs and power

I have LSD but do you have air lockers (if its from ARB it'll have an onboard air system)?

Quote, originally posted by thompsonec09 »

R50 are only Pathfinders from 96(or 95 for some Japanese & Australian models) to 2004 (or 2005 depending on what country it is) which have unidodies & 86-95 (or 94 for the previously mentioned) Pathfinders are WD21's which have a real frmae. There's a whole lot different between the 2 (like everything).

But to answer your question it could work with a sh*t ton of modification, so it would just make more sense to buy front & rear air lockers from ARB for an R50 for that kind of money.

You can't be, you only have two "axles" (the front is IFS so you you have CV axles). If you had a military vehicle with 3 axles you could have 3 lockers...

But def not in the front. Btw are you stupid, THREE AXLES????; you CAN be "Triple Locked" check out the Land Cruiser (Rear,Center,Front) My friend has one

It looks like the 18-20th is gonna be what it is for me. What I plan on doing is coming over Friday (th 18th) & then the next day, Sat. the 19th letting the wife go out to the beach or what not & go & have some fun.

Hey Guy, are you up for this (who knows maybe you'll have a job by then...)?

Fisherdude, hell yeah I'm gonna head out with you guys..I need to get some wheeling in.
Fukinitupagain, yes....but if you're talking about April, Friday is the 17th, Sat, the 18th....You're thinking about a 2-day beach run?..depends on where we're headed - if it's a 3 hour drive, I'll make one of the days for sure...not certain I want to spend 12 hours in the car over a weekend...where does URE fall into all of this?

Post Title: Re: Post your pathfinder / Qx4 pics! (SixGuns)
Posted by: fukinitupagain at 4:31 PM 3/11/2009

Yeah I meant that I'd come over to OBX the 17th (Friday) wheel on the 18th (Saturday) & head out the 19th (Sunday). I can't stay much longer than that cause I have school Monday - Thursday & can't miss any school at this point.

URE will probably sometime in mid May cause all of the offroad clubs are doing theirs as soon as it opens. I just don't want to have to wait all day long behind some ugly Toyota...

Yeah I hear that...it really makes you wonder if they save the environment that much by closing the area for part of a year when it gets completely raped for the next 2 months after it opens up. You'd think steady, but more gentle use of the land would be better for the place...I dunno...ok, well if you're planning that, I reckon I'll plan on heading up early Saturday morning and meeting up with y'all...no need to spend the night there, and who knows if I'll have a job landed by then (Advance Auto Parts wants to consider me, but for part time...making a whopping f*cking 700 bucks a month. For that amount of cash, I believe they can go f*ck their own faces. I made 5 times that much in the navy....why the f*ck did I get out again.....?

Post Title: Re: Post your pathfinder / Qx4 pics! (SixGuns)
Posted by: fukinitupagain at 8:36 PM 3/11/2009

They close so they can actually fix all of the trails (they bring in the bobcats & dozers).

I know Advanced Auto isn't offering much but $700/month is still $700/month more than you get now... couldn't you sign up for the Navy again (I had a friend do that with the Army)?

Post Title: Re: Post your pathfinder / Qx4 pics! (fukinitupagain)
Posted by: SixGuns at 5:13 AM 3/12/2009

Yeah, I could walk into a recruiter today and be back in uniform tomorrow, on my way to San Diego or Norfolk, but that would be exactly why I got out - my wife pulled orders here, and she'll be here for at least 18 months...I don't want to live 3 hours from here, much less across the country....so, even though I'm not making my a**-ton of money that I did while enlisted...I'm at home with my wife, and that's what really matters, as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, the Advance thing might come through...but a local painting company sounds pretty promising, too...and I'd be pulling down $15/hr, so...I guess I'll see what happens. The job I really want is with General Dynamics as a maintenance technician...basically travelling from base to base, repairing weapons...pretty much the same job, technically-speaking, as I did in the navy, just only working on .50-cals, M16, M240's and the such, instead of multi-million dollar missile systems on a ship. But kinda hard to walk into anywhere in Jacksonville and say "I can shoot and repair weapons, as well as trouble-shoot vertical launching systems! Can I work for you?...selling....er, microwaves...?"

Post Title: Re: Post your pathfinder / Qx4 pics! (Fisherdude)

I like the way you're thinking, getting training in the military (and before anyone makes the crack, yes, the CG is considered "military" even though they are technically Dept. of Homeland Defense, not DOD..they do an amazing job of protecting the country's waterways with a considerably small force), however, having gone that same route (thinking the military will give me real-life skills to apply to the civilian sector), you may want to go another route...If you want to go automotive/off road, which is freaking awesome, by the way - I want to open an off road fabrication/racing shop in California with my brother when I make my way back out there and he gets out of the Navy - ...I'd suggest going to UTI or WyoTech or something of that nature...the training you get onboard a ship (or cutter in this instance) is very specialized, and, sure...you might learn to weld, but can you really apply skills attained by working on 1400hp Cat diesels to a tubular chassis and an 800hp Chevy engine? No, not really...If it's what you're dead set on, by all means, go for it, enjoy it...but if you're looking to get experience to take to the civilian sector and make a living with, I'll be the first to tell you, the military doesn't give a sh*t about your personal goals..you'll get caught up in the mission of the unit and before you know it, 4 years has passed, you've had a ball, done some cool stuff, but find yourself standing with a DD-214, wondering, "what the hell do I do now?" Trust me, I'm doing it right now.

As far as wheeling, I'd like to hit the beach and some sweet trails...Boston, what about you?

Gotta start working my way out of this debt...Jen can't be in the Navy forever...But I dunno what I'll do...I may still have it. Good point. I only paid 4500 for my car with 120,000 on it so i got a good deal and never had to go in debt for it. However the first owner paid $33,000 for my car which is mind boggling.

Well, things around here are exactly how I suspected...thanks to it being a military town, dealers want way too much for vehicles and don't give you much of anything for yours....so I'm waiting to hear back about an '01 Ram 2500 with the 5.9 turbo diesel...if I get it, the Pathy will be a trade in, with a nice upside-down going into it...but I'll pick up one of the many 90/91 Pathfinders with a blown motor...work on that for a while...for a whopping 800 bucks..lol. Who knows, might work, might not. Good thing at least my wife's Tacoma holds its value!

I bought a 2004 Pathfinder SE about 8 months ago. I stumbled onto this site and I love it!! I'm starting to bite everyone's style here, but I can't help myself!! Loved these things so much I bought a 1998 QX4 with 85k on the clock for a daily driver(I do alot of highway miles). Love'em both, but man is that 3.3L underpowered!! Trade for an 03 Q in my future!!! Anyway here are a few pics of the rides....

the rims are the same size, I had 265/40 series all around but the fronts were worn out (I had a bad alignment) anyways I decided to go with 265/35 series on the front and replace the back when I can afford it.
I only got stock suspension and my tires don't rub at all.

besides foriegn car companies don't know how to spell anyway

I have my Infinity fully locked with electronic lockers it allows me to have real four wheel drive not limited slip. when ever I need it all I have to do is hit a rocker switch. It is nice to have the ability to choose which axle you want to be locked or limited.

I took these pictures in NW Montana unbelivable country out there

Ya that drivers side headlihgt is foggy in the picture, I dont get what happened to it, it just started fogging after rain all of the sudden, I took it out and put a bead of silicone all around the seam, and its still there

The windshield strip is HUGE, but doesnt block you field of vision from the drivers seat at all, like if your following a car, the tint cutoff line is about 1" above the cars roof. So its litereally perfect, and exactly what I wanted, so much less sun in the car while driving.

I love my cars

New Here just wanted to say hello to all.
I bought my 1997 Infinity QX4 truck about 1yr 1/2 ago. running great with over 200K.

I am looking to buy another Ride, and Givin my Girl the Truck. Granted she has work on Cars, Since her Father is a Veteran Mechanic for over 20 plus years. I fell Like My cousin Vinny, when every we talk about Cars. She is very cool, and knews her stuff, I'm well a Local DJ in Las Vegas, and Enjoy Driving the Qx4, Doing Gigs and keeping things Goin. Other then that The Site Looks very kool. Hope to learn alot about the truck, and setting up mod's for her.

Basic Mod's in the Project
Air bag Lowering Kit
3 stage Normal, Low, Slammed

Dynomax Dual Exhaust System
Pipes exhaust coming from rear doors before rear Tires

Dual Turbo Clips for low in power, not for Top end, but for 1/4 mile stuff
Dual per for Street, and Dragg

K & N Flowmaster

My Girl, with her Dad, and the gang of tools. Got me on all that stuff. I used to mess with that, but Kinda left it for more Hands on SportBike Mechanic. So yeah she is perfect for me.

But I will post up, what she put on the Truck, So I am looking forward on setting this up.

Thanks Everyone
David

This is my 1999.5 Nissan Pathfinder LE. Bought it from CarMax with only 69500 miles and it runs just like its new. I really wanted a 4WD car for my first car, i just got my license, but this is 2WD and it will have to do. Ive actually taken it through small mudholes and trails before and it does just fine. It has 25" General Grabber tires that were put on new by CarMax. When those wear down I plan on upgrading a few things to this car for offroad such as new shocks, struts, tires, etc. So i will update pics when i do these upgrades.

Thanks.

Woody what are you looking to do? Some people here will tell you to get a big system & some shiney 20's but then there's people like me who will tell you to lift it, cut it up & put bigger tires on it... its all about what direction you're going in.

If you want lift there's only acouple of options:
1 - is you can go with a front strut spacer which depending on the size of the spacer will give you a .75-1" lift or
2- You can go with OME lift which after it settles gives you 1-1.25" of lift or
3- you can go with AC's lift which gives you about 2" after the coils settle. You can stack a s[acer with either lift to get additional lift.

There are a couple of other options but thats for the truely badassness like SFD (Sub Frame Drop lifts) or SAS (Straight Axle Swap) but only 2 people in the known world have done that (& they aren't even finished) have SAS & only a couple have the SFD.

As far as wheels & tires go, the tires can make ahuge difference if you really want to go offroad & aftermarket rims (offroad rims) are a good idea cause they can take a lot more damage & stress than the stock rims. If you go with a lift you can fit 32x11.5 tires if not then 31x10.5 or 31.12.5 (I wouldn't suggest going this wide unless you have a lift & 15x10 rims in all reallity) will be the max. I personally run 32x11.5x15 BFG Muddterrains, but if you want something like a nice AT theres plenty out there.

Roof racks are nice addition to have (not the sh*tty little ones that come with the R50) to put real spare tires on, lights & other accessories.

Hello all! I'm really new to this place and to a lot of what ya'll talk about, so go easy on me, hehe.
I have a 2001 QX4 (silver w/black leather interior) with 108k miles currently. I have owned it for three years now and put 30k miles on it. I'll try to get some pics up soon. I haven't done a whole lot to it besides upgrading the audio system. I'd like to spiff it up here and there- lift/performance etc.
Here's what I've done so far:
(Audio)
Sony Head Unit (cdx-gt400)
4 Sony 2-way speakers (xs-v16hp)
4-channel Profile amp (ap740)
a powered sub that's not really even worth mentioning

(Aesthetics-exterior)
Painted the red trim around the tail lights black
Sylvania Silverstar rear turn signals

I also just got some new tires- General Grabber HTSs

I'd like to add as many black details to the exterior as possible. Any ideas?

Pretty general looking Pathy. This is actually my brother-in-law's PF, but I've sunk more $$$ into it than the Mirage I used have.

I could list a bunch of repairs and whatnot, but instead I'll just list two of the changes that I like: new Alpine iDA-X305 HU and HID conversion kit. All pictures were taken with my phone, so not very good qualiy.

And just for the sake of comparison to the HID-simulate I just replaced (and boy did they SUCK). Note: it was raining when I did the swap in the parking lot... so there's more fog in the HID picture.

Hello everyone!
I am new to Nico, I just got an 04 Pathfinder since my piece of s*** camry was totaled. Right now, my pathfinder is all stock, but I'm thinking about maybe lifting it 2 inches and putting on a grill guard? I've heard that lifting pathfinders is quite the task since you have to trim plastic and get spacers.
But since the undercarriage is so unprotected, I kinda have to lift it if I want to go offroading right?
Here is a picture of me and the new pathy.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com...g?v=0

Any ideas?

Thanks!

welcome to the forum Molly.

you will find alot of info on here if you search past threads, lots of nice people on here to get ideas and advice from as well. regarding offroading and lift kits...you can deffinatly offroad just fine with the pathfinder without lifting it. it just depends on how hardcore of offroading you are going to be doing. if you plan on lifting the truck, make sure you have enough money to do it right and get new shocks, springs, wheels, etc and have it done professionally somewhere. its not going to be cheap.

a bush guard is a nice addition but keep in mind that the extra weight will give you worse gas milage. but they look good and will protect your front end.

korbeano89: you can get one here:
http://www.autoanything.com/gr....aspx

its pretty expensive though. I'd search on ebay and craiglist for one. that link says pathfinder but they should fit on a qx4 the same. unless the front bumper is alot different. but your best bet for price would be to find one used online somewhere. or a junkyard

We bought it for my wife to drive but I drive it some every now and again, I plan on putting some new wheels and tires on it soon and doing some minor mods to make it look a little less stock

Just recently started w/ some mods!thinking about redoing the two front windows, they are a little to light. Or i might just tint the windshield!

Had my beloved pathfinder, since new in 1998 - 5 speed XE.

Wish I could say I have it customized, tricked out and spotlessly clean, like most of the other's on this thread, but alas I live of world of family, farming and long work hours.

So it's just a trusty old workhorse, there for me day, after day, after day. It has 135,000 miles on the origianal fan and timing belts, which will finally be changed next week. Tiny bit of rust on the bumper and one door that will not open.

Hey NICO gang!

I bought a '98 Pathfinder last month. I was casually looking for an SUV and this one ended up having just about everything I wanted...5spd, 4x4, 109k miles and super clean. So far I've changed the oil and air filters and removed a loose quarter that was sliding around under the instrument panel.

I don't think it had the 105k maintenance so I'll probably be getting that done eventually (I commute to work by bus, so this is strictly a pleasure vehicle for now). I've also noticed that my rear end shakes side to side at high speeds when I go over an uneven stretch of highway. So I think shocks are in my very near future.

I was looking for a forum to get advice from and bounce around some of my own ideas. This appears to be the place.

(The fuel door does close. And I removed the ski racks, but left the bars for a cargo rack.)

Yeah, I feel like I've only seen a few in various forums. I had no idea they offered a manual tranny. Does anyone know what percentage of all Pathfinders came from the factory that way? And would this be considered an XE since it's a 5spd without power windows/doors (insurance company and dealer call it an SE).

The 5spd is "clutch." I'm probably going to trade the ski racks in toward a Yakima LoadWarrior cargo basket.

I am interested in finding rear taillight guards that match the front grill guard. Also, if I can add extra lights to it. It is stock front grill without foglights.
I'll post a pic as soon as I figure out how to do so...

Okay, figured it out.
I live in off-road country, Powell River, BC, up the Sunshine Coast. I would like to know if I can get parts online sent to me, being in Canada.

My 1990 Nissan Pathfinder, running at 511,000 kilometres, or 318,000 miles, on the original engine!!!

Very well cared for by the previous owner, full synthetic oil changes since 1994 by him. There is a hole under the rear seats from rust, but that's the only issue! Very few minor rust spots elsewhere, clean interior, no stains, all lights work!

I love this truck! I love black Nissans too, obviously

A good bodyguard for my President, who is not equipped to handle snow...

Do you get rubbing or did you have to do lots of trimming?

i would consider it "lots of trimming." the rear clears everything just fine, but the front needed some motivation from a hammer and pry bar. the place where it made contact was the lower portion of the wheel well, near the door. i basically "folded inward" about 1in of metal fender, to create clearance for the tire.

the fender flares were also removed. the tires wouldn't stuff into the fenders with them in place.

Hi all,

After 6 years of 'neglecting' my 2003 Pathfinder (just basic maintenance, very little TLC...) I am looking forward to getting some mild mods done and upgrading anything else that needs replacement due to wear and tear...
Coming up soon will be the brakes (suspension is next)
I am hoping to find advice and info on the forums to avoid mistakes...

Cheers

Frank

idk if it's rare, but it's definitely not as common.

Fellow Nicoclub members,

Here is my 2003 QX4 4WD with just over 53K on the clock. My 1994 Volvo (winter car) is no longer the reliable beast that I once had with 216K. So I had to find a new winter car.

I have always loved the looks of these and pathfinders. When I found her it was a deal I could not pass up.

I look forward to becoming better acquainted with the Pathy/QX4 community.

Now a few photos:
