I pay ~100 bux a month for my 89 240. I'm 21 years old and have a 20% discount on my insurance for safe driving. I have fairly minimal coverage and I think it is a 300 or 500 dollar deductable
(I forget what one I chose)

SR-22 has nothing to do with motors. SR-22 is the form number of the form for PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. basically its a form that the insurance company must fill out and you must submit to the dmv. this is what happens when you get into an accident without insurance.

Iv'e got six points on my liscense and I live in North Carolina which has some the worst rates in the nation.
BUT things should be looking alot better the next time I renew my policy.
Sheesh, you'd think I drove Ferrari or something...

Im 19 living in Baltimore Maryland paying about 3600 a year for liability only insurance on my 89 240sx. Got a accident and ticket tho...
Accident was dumb tho my phawken mom suggested that i tell my insurance company (who wouldnt help me anyway being i only have liability converage) that someone hit my car while i was at work and no one was there to see it. Yup...I think someone has it out for me cause my car was hit twice in the parkinglot while i was inside at work. I came out one day completely missing my front bumper...

Progressive I pay $120 / Month for my 95 240sx. 1 Ticket 20+ and Minor Accedent. I am 24 I think... Yeah 24.
It was $165 / Month w/ Reckless Driving (114mph) and the 20+ and the Minor Accedent.
Both with $100 Deduct no collision.
For a 1998 BMW M3 its $230 / Month from some other people... Full Coverage. It $250 for both cars.
At 20 I was paying $365 a month for MAX Full coverage with Allstate. At 21 it Dropped to $165 MAX Full coverage. No bad record at that time.

That said:
I'm 23, single, own my car, and I pay $1,500 a year full coverage for my '98 SE with a $500 deductable.
Progressive can only work with your rates so much... and it depends almost entirely on your location. My rates with progressive were half of what I was quoted by Geico, State Farm, Allstate, for the exact same coverages.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I have 1 at fault accident and two speeding tickets on my record... but it's been almost 3 years since all of them happened. (they were all in a 3 month period
)

For my 1995 BMW M3 I'm paying roughly $850 for the 6 month premium for $25k/50k coverage and $500 collision and comp deductibles. This is through State Farm with the good driver and good student discounts.
I was quoted $1160 through All-State and $1275 through USAA (pawning me off to an "associate" company) for the 6 month premium and same coverage.

No Name insurance - Liability (base coverage)
$118/mo 6 mo, i'm 20 yr old driving 96 240SX SE
3 speeding tickets in 1 year (2003)
When I got quotes from Geico and eInsurance, I was looking at approx. double that. Although so many kids get killed in accidents and reckless driving in my county alone its sickening. I've taken def. driving, community awareness, and won 2 of my tickets, and thats the best I can do. I'd much rather not have insurance

My insurance is raping me. I'm 19 soon to turn 20. Pulled over once, but no points or insurance changes, and I'm paying $220/month, my dad is even listed as the driver of my car!
They give a deduction if you have above average grades in school, and even with a 3.9X college GPA, this is the best I get.
Something is definitely wrong here.

23 years old, one speeding ticket, one wreckless driving ticket. I haven't told them I'm married, have a kid, and rent my own place.
Should be around $650/yr when I tell them all that and when I add our Jeep.
USAA FTW
