Post Title: Sub-25 year old males: post your yearly insurance rates
Posted by: Onizuka at 9:16 PM 3/16/2005

Just wondering if anybody gets good rates out there, here is what I was quoted recently as a 19 year old college student living in PA:

A:
91 240sx as a daily driver, minimal coverage, no collision, limited tort and so on, -for $600 a year

B:
91 240sx as pleasure car, minimal coverage, no collision, limited tort
and
97 240sx as daily driver, medium coverage, collision with $1000 deductable, limited tort
-all for $1600 a year

Holy crap, that seems very cheap to me even after the can-us dollar difference.

I pay ~100 bux a month for my 89 240. I'm 21 years old and have a 20% discount on my insurance for safe driving. I have fairly minimal coverage and I think it is a 300 or 500 dollar deductable (I forget what one I chose)

Wtf, Erie insurance is ripping me.
21 years old
93 240sx, no collision, minimal coverage, daily driver, $150/mo!
That comes out to $900 every six months and $1800/yr. Damnit, no accidents or tickets on the record either. :\

SR-22 has nothing to do with motors. SR-22 is the form number of the form for PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. basically its a form that the insurance company must fill out and you must submit to the dmv. this is what happens when you get into an accident without insurance.

No, I am required to have the insurance due to losing my license for speeding tickets, I have no accidents on my record and I've never driven a vehicle that was not insured.

Ugh, I just looked up on Geico what I would have. I'm 20, 1 accident (totalled S14), no tickets, good student discount, and with no collision or comprhensive, it was gonna be about $1200 a year for a 95 s14. I added minimal collision and it doubled

Post Title:

Well,

You guys have it good. I'm 23, with a 98 s14 w/ collision and libility and my monthly is about $200. Yes that is $1200 every six months and $2400 a year.

Iv'e got six points on my liscense and I live in North Carolina which has some the worst rates in the nation.

BUT things should be looking alot better the next time I renew my policy.

Sheesh, you'd think I drove Ferrari or something...

Lol ....i think i win....

Im 19 living in Baltimore Maryland paying about 3600 a year for liability only insurance on my 89 240sx. Got a accident and ticket tho...

Accident was dumb tho my phawken mom suggested that i tell my insurance company (who wouldnt help me anyway being i only have liability converage) that someone hit my car while i was at work and no one was there to see it. Yup...I think someone has it out for me cause my car was hit twice in the parkinglot while i was inside at work. I came out one day completely missing my front bumper...

I pay $222 a month about $2700 a year. (Full coverage, $500 deductible, and Uninsured Motorist)
On a 1995 240sx SE
note I have:
three minor violations
so it isn't too bad
thank you god for AIS
I was paying $246 a month on my automatic 1996 Altima GXE before it got totalled and I switched to AIS
If you are interested in getting a good deal on insurance call

Progressive is my insurance provider.

23 year old

05 STi cost me 166/month full coverage

1996 Subaru Legacy is 55/month liability + comprehensive

1997 240sx is 100/month full coverage

Progressive I pay $120 / Month for my 95 240sx. 1 Ticket 20+ and Minor Accedent. I am 24 I think... Yeah 24.

It was $165 / Month w/ Reckless Driving (114mph) and the 20+ and the Minor Accedent.

Both with $100 Deduct no collision.

For a 1998 BMW M3 its $230 / Month from some other people... Full Coverage. It $250 for both cars.

At 20 I was paying $365 a month for MAX Full coverage with Allstate. At 21 it Dropped to $165 MAX Full coverage. No bad record at that time.

I know that you all are probably aware how these rates are going to differ depending on your location, crime rates, etc.

That said:

I'm 23, single, own my car, and I pay $1,500 a year full coverage for my '98 SE with a $500 deductable.

Progressive can only work with your rates so much... and it depends almost entirely on your location. My rates with progressive were half of what I was quoted by Geico, State Farm, Allstate, for the exact same coverages.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I have 1 at fault accident and two speeding tickets on my record... but it's been almost 3 years since all of them happened. (they were all in a 3 month period )

Just got insured today. For just me as the only driver I got $72.50/month for the second to lowest liability on my 91 s13. And i pay a lil but under $100 for my Lexus, only b/c I put my mom as the primary driver, and me second. Not too bad considering that i'm 20 w/ a wreckless driving ticket on my record.

is it true that if u claim an accident and get a speeding ticking under the age of 18 ur insurance isnt gonna drop till ur 23 or later? I really dont feel like paying close to 4 grand a year for liability only till im 23! The 2 were within 6 mos. of each other and it has been almost 2 years squeeky clean record since then.

Well on a 1996 240sx Le, fully stock according to the insurance company's books......7200 a year, which is about 600 a month, varies each month. I have a farily clean record with just one 35+ speeding ticket, but i geuss being a 20 year old in a RWD 2 Door Sports car really bungs ya up a bit. I live in southern Ontario....not sure if that figures into the equation.

1100 or so every 6 months...on a "stock" 1992 honda civic cx with LIABILITY ONLY. 17 year old with a penis will really crank up those rates I guess...

22 year old male
no at-fault accidents, 1 non at-fault accident

For my 1995 BMW M3 I'm paying roughly $850 for the 6 month premium for $25k/50k coverage and $500 collision and comp deductibles. This is through State Farm with the good driver and good student discounts.

I was quoted $1160 through All-State and $1275 through USAA (pawning me off to an "associate" company) for the 6 month premium and same coverage.

Post Title: Re: Sub-25 year old males: post your yearly insurance rates (Rockenreno)
Posted by: S14AddiCtion at 5:44 AM 3/24/2006

Lets just say I'm jealous. Here in Atlanta, GA...insurance is necessary and comes at a great expense. Although this is what I consider a deal...

No Name insurance - Liability (base coverage)
$118/mo 6 mo, i'm 20 yr old driving 96 240SX SE
3 speeding tickets in 1 year (2003)

When I got quotes from Geico and eInsurance, I was looking at approx. double that. Although so many kids get killed in accidents and reckless driving in my county alone its sickening. I've taken def. driving, community awareness, and won 2 of my tickets, and thats the best I can do. I'd much rather not have insurance

Given that record and a vehicle worth insuring, in that area (excuse me if I'm wrong, age matters) that sucks, are you with a big insurance company or a no-name? because I am looking for some insurance for another car and I am unsure which route to go considering I *want* full coverage, but will dwell on the major expense.

My insurance is raping me. I'm 19 soon to turn 20. Pulled over once, but no points or insurance changes, and I'm paying $220/month, my dad is even listed as the driver of my car!

Just as an update on my last post when I said I was payin about 3500 for liability only on my 89 in 2005 with allstate. Its been two years. The car is now a 97 auto and Ive gotten my own insurance through geico. Allstate originally quoted me 2100 for full coverage ever 6 mos where as geico quoted me 1600. In the year that ive had Geico it has dropped twice. I now pay 1100 every 6 mos. One accident at fault back when I was 17.
