In researching just who to go with in purchasing my extended warranty I come across this report that makes some claims against a dealership that many NICO forum members buy their warranties from.

http://www.ripoffreport.com/Au...4.htm

I don't have a horse in the race, other than as a guy deciding where to spend his money. I found the information useful, but not knowing the parties it could be complete BS or 100% true.

My first question is why didn't that person get a (Nissan) Infiniti Elite extended warranty? The next question is why hasn't this person taken their car to another dealer (is the warranty only good at Infiniti of Scottsdale)?

I know that plenty of people here have gone through them and I have not heard one complaint. However, I always look for varied comments so I can make an informed decision.

Absolutely. It looks like the person in the above article did not and did not understand what they were doing.

If dealing with Infiniti, always stick with a (Nissan) Infiniti Elite Warranty. I had one on my '03 M45 (which I sold to get another vehicle) and one on my '01 QX4 (which I still have and the warranty is still active). I've never had an ounce of problems with either vehicle's warranty and they've each paid for themselves while always having my vehicles repaired by a certified Infiniti tech.

also -- when dealing with 3rd party non- Nissan/Infiniti warranties, it usually (99%) the indy warranty company that's the problem; not the dealer. Check out the complaints on those warranty companies you see advertising on TV - un-freaking-real levels of complaints.

Living in the Scottsdale area, I know many folks that have bought/serviced Infiniti's from this dealership and I've not heard one complaint. We'd hear something from someone, being local. They host Track days at FIrebird Raceway (Bondurant's track) several times a year and they have a very loyal group of owners. I think Courtney said that she has sold in excess of 100 extended warranties to NICO folks (keeping in mind there's more than just us M owners). I think the board would be smokin' with posts if they were not happy with the service and warranty received. I've more than paid for mine in the little over a year that I've had it.

Am I crazy or did Courtney Mutema from Infiniti of Scottsdale post another topic on here today about being able to offer Nissan warranties and that topic has been removed?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess the complainant is clueless.

Aftermarket warranties are almost ALWAYS underwritten by an independent, 3rd-party insurance company. The dealer can sell you one, but so can another company, and the warranty remains the same. The NAME of the warranty can sometimes be misleading, as they're not underwritten by the manufacturer.... just endorsed, in some cases.

I was thinking about this - that post must have been fake - it was way to coincidental for it to be a real one...

Nope, she has an account here and she posted a similar message yesterday in another NICO forum. Maybe a mod moved it from here?

The complaint is well written and the warranties she references are indeed Nissan warranties. That is the only reason that I posted it.

Well, I will defer to your judgment in this, I didn't check it out at all - I did see it was like the 23 post she had done...

It is odd that it was deleted... my post was asking if she could clarify and account for some of the items written in the post you had linked in... and then there was 50+ views, no posts... and the next time I went to look it at it was gone... Normally a Moderator would post a post saying they did delete it... and some times why....

Maybe a mod will clear this up. I would bet a million bucks that she posted and now the post isn't here.

Hmmm ... no, I did not remove any thread from Courtney (I have not been on in a few days though) that was in here.

She is with Scottsdale Infiniti and they are a NICO sponsor (via their parts department - see link in my sig), so their posts are allowed. I will see if I can figure it out ...

Some of those posts were deleted.

What happened was someone (not sure if it was Courtney) posted a copied / pasted version of the SAME thread across the entire forums.

We cleaned it up and suggested some alternative ways of getting the word out.

Scottsdale Infiniti, BTW, has ALWAYS been a staunch supporter of NICOclub.com, and are a fantastic resource for our members.

Their parts department is top-notch, their finance department knows their stuff, they have a great sales team, and their management is very involved in the enthusiast community.

p.s. Here's Courtney's thread: zer...96041

I think Courtney from Infiniti of Scottsdale is great and I had a great experience with my warranty purchase. Thats the only thing I can say good about Infiniti of Scottsdale. From trying to buy a car from then, to getting the car serviced by them and even their parts deparment I thought they were always a Pain in the a** and rely too much on their "1st Infiniti Dealer in the US" thing.

I have been to 2 other dealers since my overall bad experiences with Scottsdale and enjoyed the other dealers much more.

I didn't want the forum to think this place can do no wrong.

I ended up going with Daniella from Circle Infiniti in Jersey. She beat Courtney's price and was a real nice girl to deal with. She even laughed half heartedly at my Jersey Shore references from that MTV show.

I talked to Courtney several times- always gave good info and no BS. Her price is not the lowest but it is fair and as I said no BS.

I did talk to Courtney before buying my extended warranty and thought she was very knowledgeable and helpful. I also went with Daniella because of price. She was quite a bit lower. She was also knowledgeable and great to deal with! I've since used my warranty and it showed up on the Infiniti computers that I had an extended warranty even before I had received my contract.

I got my Infiniti Elite warranty from Courtney at Scottsdale and was very pleased with the process and the results.... However, I have had a completely contrary experience dealing with their parts department and I will never make that mistake again.....
