is there a dipstick in a mannual transmission on a 1990 300zx z32

how can i check the fluids in my 1990 300zx? its a stick shift two seater. its making a noise and i need to check the trans fluid..is there a dipstick anywhere?

No.

There are 2 plugs - One is a drain plug (bottom of trans), one is a level check plug (side of trans).

Remove side plug. Fluid should be AT the level of the hole - Stick your finger in there or look inside with a flashlight.

how do i know if i need fluid or not? and thank you for such a quick post im new to the 300zx i think im going to like owning it

Like I said, fluid level should be at the level of the hole. In other words, add fluid until it flows OUT of the side filler hole, then replace the plug.
